Event Leader Applications

There is now ONE position open for the rank of Event Leader.

Requirements:

You MUST be active.
You MUST be willing to make one event a week. I would like someone willing to do Monster related events and maybe some type of pvp practice things.

This position consists of not only hosting and attending events but keeping all attendances and recaps up to date along with holding a Half-Op position in the IRC channel. You will be a moderator on our forums as well.

The applications will be open until, Saturday, March 12. .

Once the applications have closed the candidates will be considered by Council along with the help of the current staff. After discussion the result will be posted within one week.

Make sure you are committed to the duties posted above before you apply.

The Form for Applying:
This form is the basic format to fill out your application. Be serious, this is not just a simple duty. It is one that requires constant dedication throughout your service.

Post your application here on this topic!

Good luck to all those who choose to apply. Event Leader is NOT a position to take lightly. You will more than likely get abuse from members for random crap.

If you can't take pressure, Event Leader is not for you. We do hold our event leaders accountable to hosting weekly and managing the Combat Skill of the Week and the Skill of the Week. Council is always available to help in tough situations.

Thank you Garrett and Dallar.

is the day you have stopped leading them.
They have either lost confidence that you can help them
or concluded that you do not care.
Either case is a failure of leadership.”

What do you have to offer as an Event Leader and makes you more qualified than other people applying for Event Leader?

I have to be honest. What I have to offer as an Event Leader is my active time in WG. Everyone knows that I have school during weekdays and that takes all of my free time. Even with that being true, you'll often see me in IRC/forums during weekdays chatting about while i do some of my homework. I will offer all the RuneScape time I have to WG.

What, as I think, makes me more qualified than other people applying, is that I am passionate about this clan and I would make the best possible to create events that would help the clan in a long term.

WG needs imaginative Event Leaders, someone who can think up good events. Are you this person and have you thought of any events already? (If so please name and describe them).

I have a few ideas already.
Slayer Competition:
This is my favourite idea. We start massing in Shilo Village bank.
We withdraw an all-round slayer equipment(you CANNOT bank thereafter), then vote for a selection of slayer monsters UP TO LEVEL 70(ex: Aberrant Spectres, Infernal mage, Banshee and Cave Crawler/Cockatrice, Pyrefiend, Cave Slime, Mogre). After the voting is done, you have to kill 1 of each (screenshots for proof) and return to Shilo Village bank. Whoever does this the first is the winner of 200k.

Level 10:
You start with a brand new account. You will team up with someone else who attends the event. Your goal is to get AT LEAST level 10 in all skills available to F2P (excluding dungeoneering). The first group who comes in with level 10 in each skill is the winner.

Is there anything coming up in the next 6 months that could make you inactive?
I have school which makes me RuneScape inactive during the week. In weekends though, the situation changes: I USUALLY have lots of free time (normally from 20:00 GMT until 00:00 GMT). What happens is that my mom is a pain in the ass sometimes - asking me to do stuff all the time(this is the reason why i suddenly leave in the middle of a raid sometimes), you know how it is - you have been 14 before after all:P
Sometimes though, i go to my dad's house - He works on weekends, so i have pretty much from 15:00 GMT till 00:00 GMT to play (I usually go there once every two weeks). I would probably make a weekly event somewhere around 21:00 GMT.

Is there anything else you would like to say?
Yes. I would like to thank everyone in the clan for supporting me when i need it, and for being somehow a second family of mine. I would also like to say good luck to all those who apply. Also yay to Rodney75 if I manage to get the rank rofls tongue.gif

One problem with leadership is a tendency to start strong, then fade out into inactivity. Will you promise to uphold your duties continuously throughout your service to the best of your ability?
Yes.

Event Leader Application: Dallarsaurus

Join date: Officially: September 25th 2007
Time zone: GMT+1 Denmark

What do you have to offer as an Event Leader and makes you more qualified than other people applying for Event Leader?
My interest lies in the betterment of Wilderness Guardians. I'm not a warring person but in terms of having fun and relaxation I'm the born event manager. I have always wanted to become an Event Leader ever since I lost it back in early 2010 because I have so much I can offer WG in this position. I am an easy-going, friendly and humoristic person with goals in life and I'm sure that will benefit me again if elected to Event leader. I'm an organized person which means that nothing on the forum will be looking like shit. In terms of event topics I'll take my time to make topics that will hopefully attract more participants. I am very skilled with Photoshop and let that be one of my forces as an EL.

Next to that I hate when people don't get their attendance points on time. Actually I will make sure to kick this little forum-service in it's butt for good if I get the rank. It's a thing I think needs working on from every staff member in the clan (E.G I still need 3 attendance points from my trial period) I will HAUNT the recaps section making sure that everything will be up to date. I'm also a vacuum-cleaner in person.. I like keeping things tidy so you will probably see more irrelevant topics getting closed, important topics getting pinned etc etc. I like working on the forums.. It gives me a feel of contributing control of things.

Thirdly I like organizing stuff for other people. Whether it be events or helping deeds I'll be there for my fellow members. It's important that we show our gratitude to the people we roam Runescape with. Do not expect me to get cocky if I get promoted. On the contrary expect me to become more humble in my approach to everything. I like people to know that I'm there for them if they need me and they can always come to me if they want things carried out with my assistance.

Fourth I have a TON of ideas that can be used to increase the variety of events we have in our clan. I have already posted them before in other applications but I think I'll post them here again in case you have forgotten.

QUOTE

Drop of the day
Basically I will launch this and then people will have 24 hours to get the most insane drop they can. The item will then be valued and the person with the highest valued item will win. I think the rewards will be extra attendance points. It's not really that big of a deal but it encourages to train!

Survivorman
Survivorman is a NON-PVP event which takes place wherever you want. It's not allowed to use your bank or GE to complete this event. In a certain amount of time (Let's say one hour) it's up to you to earn the highest amount of GP. The way you make them is your decision (If it's fishing, mining, runecrafting etc).. You'll have to find the tools needed for gathering the resources (You're not allowed to get the tools from the bank either)

The Wilderness Guardians Iron man challenge
You start out in Lumbridge. I will start the race with a count down. When the race starts you follow the route on the maps posted below. You are not allowed to use teleport spells for this and you are not allowed to get the resources from the bank or GE. Throughout you will face 5 challenges (Speed, Agility, Mining, Woodcutting and Fishing) The first person to complete this race wins.

Here's the route:

Race starts at Lumbridge
From Lumbridge > Mining Ground east of Melzars maze.
Mining ground > Falador bank
Falador bank > Catherby fishing spot
Catherby fishing spot > Catherby Bank
Catherby Bank > Maple forest north of Camelot
Maple forest > Camelot bank
Camelot bank > Barbarian Course

First person to complete to Agility course wins

(There will be put watchmen at the 4 challenges to make sure that you are doing what you're supposed to do. When you're done gathering resources at the different locations you can't proceed before you have shown your full load to one of the watchmen. When your inventory is full you can go to the banks on the route to store them and get the new tool required for the next challenge)

How you gear up for this is totally up to you (I suggest weight reducing equipment)

Clue scroll hunters
We mass in world 27 in our best fighting equipment. Then we set off to collect clue scrolls. This works the same way as the drop of the day - the person with the best clue scroll reward will win and will be rewarded with extra attendance points. It encourages to train and has the ability to grant you WEALTH!
I will make a thread where people can submit their clue scroll pictures. The pictures has to include both date, time and you will have to say something specific ingame for it to be approved. I think it would be fun.

Minigolf Tournament!
This is extremely fun. We will have a GRANDE minigolf tournament in WG where I'll get as many to attend as I can. Minigolf is a fun and relaxing game that can be played on the web. We will then hold a tournament that streches over a long period of time. It's very fun.. Something I hosted in Lux Aeterna while I was there and it was a great success.
Here's a link to the game itself. It's very simple and easy to do!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kzE2Xj-L4gA

Ultimate Slayer Challenge!
This is the Dallarsaurus speciality. I hosted this over a year ago and it was a great success. Tricksy and stokenut had a fierce fight reaching the top. Both achieved over around 2 mil exp in the slayer skill in less than a week. It was insane. Here's the recap: http://www.wildernessguardians.com/forum/i...showtopic=15412

I will definately make sure that we get a part two of this if I manage to get the rank.

Basically you will sign up to compete in getting the most slayer experience (This also get's combat experience ;-)) in a limited ammount of time. I am planning on expanding the competition with drop-rewards, combat skill achievements, most effigies dropped etc etc.. It was my best event

I will never claim that I am better than other applicants because I think we can bring each our things to the table but what I have to offer wouldn't dissapoint any WG member. I'll make a promise here and now saying that I'll do anything I can to make sure that WG will be kept on track with me at the EL steer. I will do my best in improving at fights and making an example out of myself aswel as making sure to help other staff-members with their chores. I will be there for the members and I'll try to work out a programme for trials making it easier for them to get their "5 event recaps" for their application.

Track of qualities:
Creative - Smart - Organized - Aware - Cooperative - Friendly - Humble - Respectful - Danish - Ex Event Leader - Old school member - Ambitious - Mature - Humoristic - Prepared - Runescape addict - Focused - Wanting

Other than that there's not much to say. This is my fourth time writing an EL application and I won't stop trying until I succeed. I wish the best of luck to anyone who will pursue this opportunity!

Is there anything coming up in the next 6 months that could make you inactive?

School from the 14th of March til the 16th of June
Vacation from the 27th of June til the 3rd-4th of July

Other than that I'll start taking piano lessons and I also have my handball every Thursday evening.

Is there anything else you would like to say?

Good luck to everyone applying for this. Good luck to myself.. I'm sure you councils make the right decision whoever gets picked. I hope you consider me though.. I have put lots of effort into my applications because I want make sure that you are aware that I'm not only applying just for the beautiful blue rank-colour and the inside-knowledge from level 3. I am here because I have a goal.. A goal that I hope you'll give me the opportunity to achieve within the walls of WG.

I heard that Orthux will be taking elite guardian. You did good mate.. Please teach me how to fade out images because it looks sexy.

One problem with leadership is a tendency to start strong, then fade out into inactivity. Will you promise to uphold your duties continuously throughout your service to the best of your ability?

100% yes

When anyone tells me I can't do anything, I'm just not listening any more.

I don't scratch my head unless it itches and I don't dance unless I hear some music. I will not be intimidated. That's just the way it is.
