Application for Event Leader

Why do you want to be WG's next Event Leader?

I've been here for a long time already, and i havn't really done anything significant in my time. I've been elite for about 3 months now, and theres been constant times where I've wanted to update sign-ups myself. There's even been times when I've wanted to be able to update Attendance myself. I love WG so much and I have since the day i decided to join. I want to give back to the community. I reckon its abit unfair when members are pushed into circumstances where they have to relinquish alot of their saved up cash to support the clan, and not get an opportunity to make the money back. I will be that solution.

What do you have to offer as an Event Leader and what makes you more qualified than others who are applying for Event Leader?

I feel i can offer a level of commitment that would be admirable for alot of people, my current activity is through the roof compared to alot of other members (not trying to be up myself). Im on Runescape alot and I check forums about 26,000 times a day.

I believe that during the weekends, i can cater for any Timezone needed. EST is Lunch time for me. Evening GMT is early morning for me (which i have no problem getting up for). And AEST can be all day really.

I don't think that makes me more 'qualified' but i do think that would make be a valuable asset as an Event Leader.

In terms of leadership, what are your weaknesses (be honest)? How do you plan to improve yourself in those areas?

My weaknesses? I guess i could only say that i feel really bad when other people don't make money on a trip that I'd host. But that can be easily solved, suck it up smile.gif

What types of events would you be most interested in creating if accepted as Event Leader? Have you thought of any original event ideas already (If yes, please briefly describe them)?

No I havn't. I take pride in saying that i lean more towards the PVM side of Events, as I'm sure alot of you have seen already. I have been jotting down a few ideas relating to some competitions i can incorporate with Boss Hunting, one that stands out would be like the OTG Points system. This will encourage more people to go out there and get some moolah eviltardsmile.gif

Should you be accepted, how long do you expect to hold this position for?

Until someone wants to take my spot hash.png. Naw i don't plan on qutitting unless something really traumatic happens i guess. I don't have exams for another 6 months so we could go from there?

One problem with leadership is a tendency to start strong, then fade out into ineffectiveness and inactivity. Will you promise to uphold your duties continuously throughout your service to the best of your ability?

Hellz no. You know that'll never happen. There's no way that i could ever quit WG. This place is my home. I've got nothing better to do in my life, as I'm pretty productive with my time.

In the next two months, is there anything that will make you inactive?

Definetely not. My activity will stay the same for the duration of my stay. School does play a factor which would mean i could do 1 or 2 Events on the weekend. Weekends would be the timeslot that I'd like to play with.

Is there anything else you would like to say?

My Application may not be as lengthy as others, but i really do mean it when i say that I'd put my all into this. I feel I've been due to give something back for a long time now, reckon this is my shot to do it. Thanks for taking the time to read what is my application and i know you'll make a good decision smile.gif

P.S Even if this doesn't get accepted im still making events for Bosses n stoof! tface.gif  eviltardsmile.gif

Why do you want to be WG's next Event Leader?
I love this clan and doing events is by far my favorite thing to do in it. I want to be able to host events once or twice a week. I know how to do almost every boss so it wouldn't be hard to teach the newer members that don't know how to do it like the supplies you need and your gear setup. Even the skilling events are great and everyone seems to always have a ton of fun with them because of the competition aspect of it. It would be great to host events that we can profit from, which will be great to buy more PvP sets or just the sets that we lost. I can handle a group of people when it comes down to it and making an event wouldn't be a problem for me. any event I make while being an EL I would definately make it on time as I've been an active consistent member for a year now. Being that I love doing fun activities on RuneScape and I feel this position fits me best.

What do you have to offer as an Event Leader and what makes you more qualified than others who are applying for Event Leader?
I'm improving myself to be around a group of people , and I've been with the clan long enough to know all the members and mostly all the new members. I know this job is a big responsibility and I'm willing to give it my all in order to take up this position. I'm very active, and attend almost all the events I can when I'm not stuck in school. I'm good with forums, and I'm also willing to learn from other Event Leaders when I'm doing something wrong or if there's a problem that needs to be taken care of. I am very persistent to get a job done even if it takes me a long time. I have a lot of experience with bossing, and I'm very good with penguins and I know how to do a lot of mini games.

In terms of leadership, what are your weaknesses (be honest)? How do you plan to improve yourself in those areas?
In self reflection, I struggle with criticism as I always want to do my best and I get disappointed when I feel I am not meeting the expectation of my clan mates. I do eventually accept the criticism but it takes a few minutes for me to think about and accept another persons point of view. But that's something I can improve on and learn from.

What types of events would you be most interested in creating if accepted as Event Leader? Have you thought of any original event ideas already (If yes, please briefly describe them)?
If I had to chose events I would make, I would do a lot of bossing, its a great way to make bank. A lot of members are always losing bank due to Pkri's and we never have enough boss hunting during the week to make it back and we end up losing about 5-10m on sets. I wouldn't have a problem taking suggestions if the clan members wanted to mix it up and maybe train a skill. I wouldn't have a problem making up a fun event like capture the flag in CWA or anything else that crosses my mind.

Should you be accepted, how long do you expect to hold this position for?
I hope to hold this position for a min. of a year. Understanding real life issues happen however at this point in time there are no problems.

One problem with leadership is a tendency to start strong, then fade out into ineffectiveness and inactivity. Will you promise to uphold your duties continuously throughout your service to the best of your ability?
My greatest strength is my persistency of setting goals then achieving them. Ive been playing for about 7 years. o.O and i continue to love this game by making things new and different and not getting bored of it, and I do promise to do the best that I can :]

In the next two months, is there anything that will make you inactive?
For the time being everything is going extremely well but there's nothing that would really make me go inactive.

Is there anything else you would like to say?
Thank you for taking your time to consider my application. I'm very supportive of you decision and good luck to any others that apply <3<3<3

Mark is a definite.

Kat... I just don't think she's ready. I mean, she can make event just like anyone else but in terms of being of a leader she doesn't show it yet (maturity, moderating, handling criticism, etc.). But then again, she COULD learn how to do that stuff if we taught her, but it's a gamble.

Both of them are great. Both offering some events that I never would host myself. That's a plus.. They are both on the other side of the globe too. That's also a big plus.

In the end I'd have to say Kat. I believe that she would benefit from having a EL rank and I would love to help her evolve. It's not that I don't want Mark to step up. I just think there's more for all of us to get with Kat. My fear is that i won't get to work as much together with Mark as I would with Kat.. Kinda like with Tom. I never heard from him..

I'd say Kat.

Both apps are great but we don't need 3 EL's.. I wouldn't have anything to do in the end.

I agree with Dallar, Both of them are really good.

But overall as much as I like mark I'de have to say Kat, And only really for one main reason, Though mark is really good and always makes events, He seems alot more into the monster killing side of creating events and as much as i personally like that, I don't think thats something WG can benefit majorly from.

I think kat will be a bit more varied, With the skilling events and the monster hunting events we'd be able to make WG money as well as give them bigger incentives to train.

So overall I think Kat, Purely for that reason.

I totally agree with Randy about Katt and the maturity and things. However, at her age that is exactly where she should be. A bit silly, overly happy and in general a female. All qualities that in this clan we can use some of. She will need some help to get the leadership part down but I see her as being cautious and unsure rather then a charge ahead and do things kind of person. She will come to us for help. A great choice for El.

OMG, Mark is awesome too. He has a more mature way with things, extremely knowledgeable. He offers tons of advice and able to write lots of guides for us. He is Aussie and they haven't had their own event leader since Jayson. It just seems time to do this again. But everyone has a down side. Sometimes he gets angry over little things that are annoying but not really hurting anything. I see him as more of a perfectionist. He doesn't like errors and they annoy the shit out of him overly. He is great and would be a wonderful event leader too.

The hard part for me is choosing between the two. I love the idea of both but Dallar thinks 4 is to many. Idk but like Mark would probably be handling the Aussie time zone. Katt is still in school so her time is limited.

I'm happy with either of them or both. If I have to pick just one I need some more time cause they both are to good. One thing to consider is they both put their hearts into WG. Katt has come through so much to be with us. Mark gets up at what time to be warring with us. I need more time for a decision for one of them.

Thank you Garrett and Dallar.

is the day you have stopped leading them.

Either case is a failure of leadership.”

They Both have their pro's and cons
Mark: Mature ,Abled, respected ,Already runs numerous events
Cons: From my point of view his timezone for gmt would kill either us or him. However that doesnt really matter seeing as we have Dallar

Kat: Able, Respected , Fun, Nice timezone for me +P
Cons: Maturity, Has not got the experience,

However my personal choice i think would be Katt. If something went wrong with one of marks event. Words would fly. + Maybe its time we got a little more Female with Staff members other than Rachel.
Either way both of them i think are able to do it. Katt if given it will get mature. She will have to or she will lose it.

Not so sure what you're saying here ...

You're saying WG won't benefit majorly from Mark's events, but you're saying Kat's events will make WG money and give them bigger incentives to train.

You do realize that Mark specializes in monster hunting events, right?
And how will Kat's events give WG members "bigger incentives to train"?

Rachel is right about mark but maybe thats what we need

Hmm.. It seems we have split decisions.

We could try em both but I fear we will be one too many. If it is to happen we need to find out some areas of responsibility. e.g. One has weekly skill, one has weekly combat skill, one has competitions and all three could just host normal events. Maybe.. It does have it's cons but there are also some pros...

If we are to get em both I'd like to make it clear to them that we need to have some good communication between us. Seeing that I've been here longest I could take responsibility of both, making sure that we all get something to do through a one-month-plan for EL's... I don't know. I don't like suggesting myself for boss-positions but if we want both I think a "head of EL" is needed. Like Vephy was back when Ludo and I came up.

Rate/hate/apprieciate?
