We are in need of recruitment and I'm going to start investing more time in that when I get back. In terms of council jobs, each council member has a specific role, and mine has traditionally been recruitment.

What I need from you guys is the following information.
It doesn't matter how long ago you joined.

CODE
1. What are two of the strongest reasons you picked WG... ie what did we have that other clans didn't?

2. What piece of material convinced you to join? (Website, video, speaking to someone, forums, RSC posts, TS rant etc...) Also, why was it successful in convincing you?

3. What are your top 3 requirements from a clan? (Non-wild events, good community, regular PKing etc. Think hard about it)

4. Any other comments as to how you got recruited? (optional)

____________________

You might not think this is IA material but I can't help but think there's nothing more important for WG right now than recruitment.

Post answers below.

1. The community hands down only one I can remember atm. I joined mainly because people from CLS (first and only clan before WG joined)

2. Pretty much the same as the first

3. Good community firstly, which WG has a great one, secondly, dedication/activity , alot of clans just have massive memberlists that pull shitall to a war, and community.. again.

1. Well Rachel first introduced me to the clan when I had sorta just started developing my account in a way. The thing that really interested me was the aspect of honor, respect and loyalty. Also the name Wilderness Guardians was catchy to me. In the way like the old guard of something sacred and special. I have a fondness for tradition and loyalty and I like reading about the older traditions about this game that surround it.

2. My friend Rachel. I probably saw a few pking vids too and the Wilderness at that time seemed kinda mysterious and cool to me.

3. I think I unintentionally spelled them out earlier. I like a tight group of people that work well with each other. So mostly loyalty. Respect amongst those people goes hand in hand as well. Then the honor of holding something sacred together.

1. What are two of the strongest reasons you picked WG... ie what did we have that other clans didn't? I felt welcome from day 1, also community is fucking tight!

2. What piece of material convinced you to join? (Website, video, speaking to someone, forums, RSC posts, TS rant etc...) Also, why was it successful in convincing you? Back in the day when i heard of WG and the site again

3. What are your top 3 requirements from a clan? (Non-wild events, good community, regular PKing etc. Think hard about it) Maturity, Community, ability to war (reg pking isn't to much of a factor because i could always round up mates to go if needed)

1. What are two of the strongest reasons you picked WG... ie what did we have that other clans didn't?
A) Wg has a notorious leader, who has put large amounts of time and effort into the clan, which made me believe if the leader is good, the clan should be aswell.
cool.gif Looking at everything that is said about WG (whether its youtube, in game, whatever) Its alwyas posotive, primarily about the community.

2. What piece of material convinced you to join? (Website, video, speaking to someone, forums, RSC posts, TS rant etc...) Also, why was it successful in convincing you?
- Youtube, the war against PPOP was interesting so i checked out the clan website and once i saw that, i guess you could say i was hooked. Looking at the history and everything else on there really was amazing.

3. What are your top 3 requirements from a clan? (Non-wild events, good community, regular PKing etc. Think hard about it)
A) Community, if the clan does not have a welcoming, flourishing community i Don't want to be a part of it, simple as that.
cool.gif Events that are well organized, and promoted regularly, so the entire clan always knows about them well in advance and can plan accordingly.
C) Common levels. If I'm with a clan that is not my level, whether its pking, pvm, dungeoneering, whatever, i wont be able to do anything with them if they are not my level. Even 110 is a little low to be bringing to the corporeal beast or pk with when your maxed.

I really hope this helped, let me know if i can be of assistance in any other way wink.gif

1. What are two of the strongest reasons you picked WG... ie what did we have that other clans didn't? - Active TeamSpeak & IRC, and had more PvP than my previous clan.

2. What piece of material convinced you to join? (Website, video, speaking to someone, forums, RSC posts, TS rant etc...) Also, why was it successful in convincing you? - Getting to know people through being a diplomat of The Death Monkeighs, a previous WG ally.

3. What are your top 3 requirements from a clan? (Non-wild events, good community, regular PKing etc. Think hard about it) - People/personalities, fun events, good balance of seriousness and goofiness.

4. Any other comments as to how you got recruited? (optional) - Came to WG on my own accord after learning and liking much about the clan from being a diplomat, as stated earlier.

1. What are two of the strongest reasons you picked WG... ie what did we have that other clans didn't?

For me it was because you had Australian based events/raids.

2. What piece of material convinced you to join? (Website, video, speaking to someone, forums, RSC posts, TS rant etc...) Also, why was it successful in convincing you?

Forums were so sexy and i already knew the clan was well organised

3. What are your top 3 requirements from a clan? (Non-wild events, good community, regular PKing etc. Think hard about it)

Community > Pking > Events

4. Any other comments as to how you got recruited? (optional)

1. What are two of the strongest reasons you picked WG... ie what did we have that other clans didn't?

- The History - a longstanding clan with success in and out of the wild, in and out of the game. Never underestimate the power of nostalgia. This was certainly a key point when I decided to re-join.

- It's just dam easy to 'fit' into the WG community. There are just less clique's in this clan than any other clan I've been in. People seem to take you at face value and give you a chance even if you do come back to the game after 4 or 5 years and have no idea what you're doing tongue.gif

2. What piece of material convinced you to join? (Website, video, speaking to someone, forums, RSC posts, TS rant etc...) Also, why was it successful in convincing you?

The alliance with the Runescape Scorpians brought me to the WG forums. Anti-pking intreiged me so I thought I'd apply to give it a go. At the time it was a unique selling point.

3. What are your top 3 requirements from a clan? (Non-wild events, good community, regular PKing etc. Think hard about it)

Strong community
In-game and forum activity
P2P multi in any form

4. Any other comments as to how you got recruited? (optional)

The WG homepage is certainly a cut above what most of the other clans have.

1. What are two of the strongest reasons you picked WG... ie what did we have that other clans didn't?

Well years ago, when i first found out about WG as a young Pre-teen, i seen the wars and the old recruitment video. It felt mystical and mysterious, and being a young kid i wanted to be apart of it, problem being i was like level 50 and the requirements were around level 85?. After a year or so later, after looking into WG more, I liked the sensible/mature side to WG with the recruitment video and to counter that I liked the funny/light hearted side of the community after watching the London IRL meeting that got removed from YouTube sad.gif. Oh and of course, WG vs DOA war looked so fun, so i wanted to be a part of a clan that held these reasons (Fun, Sensible, Humorous and Funny, Tight in community) and WG shown that. Clans that didn't have that put me off other them. Things like clans with the name Guthix's Warriors and clans that are we don't give a pinch of shit what we do type clans.
And here i am, like 4 years later, i finally came back to RS and made the WG requirements. hash.png lol

2. What piece of material convinced you to join? (Website, video, speaking to someone, forums, RSC posts, TS rant etc...) Also, why was it successful in convincing you?

The Website, was cool back then, and the themed classical music really set the mature tone. Then about 2 years ago, after a year of being in a different clan ( i joined a lower req clan), I realised things about the clan world. I joined WG IRC once in a while just to get a taster, it was full of people having a laugh, which i liked to see. And when i finally met requirements about 7 months ago (2 years later), i went into IRC to show my interest, and i had a nice welcome. And i thought, right lets do it. Left my old clan through it going dormant anyway and intro'd within an hour.

3. What are your top 3 requirements from a clan? (Non-wild events, good community, regular PKing etc. Think hard about it)

Community
Commitment/Organisation
Activity

4. Any other comments as to how you got recruited?
Think i said it unintentionally

1. What are two of the strongest reasons you picked WG... ie what did we have that other clans didn't? I didn't want to join one of the massive clans in the game, (i.e RoT) because I knew if I got in, then it'd be effectively pking all day, and that would in time bore me to shit. I like how WG has a nice mixture between pking, skilling, community and conversation (if that makes sense) The clan chat is always quite full and there's usually always people on Ts3 if I'm bored. One of the main reasons I joined I must say is because Ching was talking about it, but after I looked around the website for a little bit, I couldn't resist, it was so professional xD

2. What piece of material convinced you to join? (Website, video, speaking to someone, forums, RSC posts, TS rant etc...) Also, why was it successful in convincing you? I described that in the first question, but I may aswell repeat, I joined the clan mainly due to a friend joining, but if not for the look of the website, how professional the staff are and how kind everyone is to newcomers, I would have probably quit by now.

3. What are your top 3 requirements from a clan? (Non-wild events, good community, regular PKing etc. Think hard about it) Good community, events (wildy and non-wildy based) and people there to back for up, since I've joined I think I've been spared much more money than I felt necessary.

4. Any other comments as to how you got recruited? (optional) Don't think there's anything I haven't included.

1. What are two of the strongest reasons you picked WG... ie what did we have that other clans didn't?

1. The website. This was a real real turn on for me in terms of choosing a clan. I thought, and still do, that a clan that has taken loads of time, hours and hours to make a really strong website, shows that they are not afraid of hard work and are committed to putting the hours into the clan.

2. The community. I don't really know how, but the friendliness and great community was really obvious from the first time I stepped into the IRC. Everyone was so friendly and willing to talk about random stuff and answer questions and help.

Here is what I wrote on my intro about my reasons for joining:

QUOTE
I first heard about WG from a very good friend who gave me the link to your main page and told me to look at it. I went there and when it had loaded, I remember being shocked and astounded at the incredible website that I saw before me. It was well made and it had awesome music, in particular I liked "Celtique Medieval", so a big well done to whoever made the website, was it His Lordship? Sorry if its not, whoever made it did a really great job.
Aside from the main website, I really like the great sense of community spirit here in WG. Every post, topic and clan member I have seen/talked to has been really nice and helpful and always willing to answer a question for a future clan mate, so thank you.

2. What piece of material convinced you to join? (Website, video, speaking to someone, forums, RSC posts, TS rant etc...) Also, why was it successful in convincing you?

The Website. I think my answer above should suffice for this question. I just hadn't seen a website of that calibre before and I was shocked.

3. What are your top 3 requirements from a clan? (Non-wild events, good community, regular PKing etc. Think hard about it)

1. A relaxed attitude to life/runescape - I don't know how to describe this. I'm not saying that I don't like mandatory events etc, as that just isn't true, but I think WG manages to strike a balance between what is mandatory and what isn't and this ability to be able to, generally, choose what to attend, really attracted me to WG.

2. Activity - both on forums, at events, TS and in the IRC.

3. The variety and balance between wildy events and non-wildy events.

1. What are two of the strongest reasons you picked WG... I.E: what did we have that other clans didn't?
I heard about WG when I first started clanning way back (Like 6 years ago) and I heard about the reputation WG had built and I was quite excited when I got to see one of your wars(Don't remember against who) but I think it was one of the strongest reasons I started joining clans.
Since then, I've always wanted to join WG and as soon as I had the requirements (100+ at the time I joined) I did. biggrin.gif

2. What piece of material convinced you to join? (Website, video, speaking to someone, forums, RSC posts, TS rant etc...) Also, why was it successful in convincing you?
Witnessing a WG war nearly 6 years ago really drove me to want to join WG.

3. What are your top 3 requirements from a clan? (Non-wild events, good community, regular PKing etc. Think hard about it)
A good community, F2p Pking and wars. biggrin.gif
4. Any other comments as to how you got recruited? (optional)
I've said it before.
After witnessing a WG war I've wanted to join BADLY! lol

I joined because Stevenut joined after quiting BOS (noobie clan) I joined DKU with a few others but got bored and left to join WG, then DKU closed down anyway so was good timing. WG was a pretty big clan then too so probably another reason I joined.

1. What are two of the strongest reasons you picked WG... ie what did we have that other clans didn't?
I was looking for a new main clan, I thought about maybe RoT, but then I saw the reqruitment video on YT, that caught my interest, so I just had to find out some more about WG. The two biggest reasons that I joined WG instead of like RoT, is the community (WG has the best community ever) and because I know many of you have lot of experience.

2. What piece of material convinced you to join? (Website, video, speaking to someone, forums, RSC posts, TS rant etc...) Also, why was it successful in convincing you?
I first watched the req vid on Youtube, so I joined His Lordship cc, and talked to some of the members.

3. What are your top 3 requirements from a clan? (Non-wild events, good community, regular PKing etc. Think hard about it)
Tbh, im not a big fan off gwd and corp, but I like the fun events, like the penguin and tog event. The raids are also very fun, but what I like the most are the wars.

4. Any other comments as to how you got recruited? (optional)

1. What are two of the strongest reasons you picked WG... ie what did we have that other clans didn't? ImbryanMan told me that he had fun on runescape because he was in WG. Boredome and Friendship is why I first joined. I Stay because these friends I've made, I dont know what I would do without. This clan is pretty much my life ,other than track which is over and school, I have nothing else to do.

2. What piece of material convinced you to join? (Website, video, speaking to someone, forums, RSC posts, TS rant etc...) Also, why was it successful in convincing you? Bryan, being the nice guy that he is introduced me to Cody/Mustang and Jon/Boogers, two new people I could call friends. Before WG I had 6 friends tops. So I guess I joined in search of friendship.

3. What are your top 3 requirements from a clan? (Non-wild events, good community, regular PKing etc. Think hard about it)
To have fun, to be trusted, and to be free and able to as I want when I want(since most events are fun, I go to them)

1. What are two of the strongest reasons you picked WG... ie what did we have that other clans didn't?

How long a clan has been alive and how much it has done over that time was the main reason for me joining.

WG has that oldschool clan vibe that I loved about clans back in the day and is truly hard to find.

2. What piece of material convinced you to join? (Website, video, speaking to someone, forums, RSC posts, TS rant etc...) Also, why was it successful in convincing you?

No pieces of material convinced me to join WG. I knew a few people in WG when I first joined and we would always joke about me (the ex leader of DOA) apping for his old rival clan.

It sounded taboo but I figured the history was enough for me to apply.

3. What are your top 3 requirements from a clan? (Non-wild events, good community, regular PKing etc. Think hard about it)

The first thing I look for in a clan is the community. I'm a goofball and I joke around a lot so I needed a group of people who could laugh shit off without taking things too seriously.

The second thing I look for in a clan is the leadership. How long they've had their rank, how well they treat their members etc. I've always been a fan of a huge council base just to eliminate any bias people might have.

The last thing I looked for was clan events. Not raids or wars but a variety of events.
WG's Combat / skill comps are a great idea, and the fresh ideas for events are amazing.

The community, I hate clans that are all wars no talk or fun. I always join clans to meet new people, wars are just the extra's that come with it. A hobby to do while in the clan.

A active forum, for me the forum is more important than the clan chat, as its where the clan is based, its the clans identity.

1. The community and because WG was such a powerhouse

2. The DOA video and the animated ones. No reason. They just looked so awesome

3. Good community, regular pking and warring.

4. Nope

I picked WG for their honourable ethos and their extremely close-knit community.

2. What piece of material convinced you to join? (Website, video, speaking to someone, forums, RSC posts, TS rant etc...) Also, why was it successful in convincing you?

My rejoining was prompted by viewing the WG vs DoA war video and reminiscing about old times. happy.gif

3. What are your top 3 requirements from a clan? (Non-wild events, good community, regular PKing etc. Think hard about it)

I require a clan which creates events across the spectrum from skills competitions through clan warring through boss hunting, as too narrow a focus would bore me.

I require a clan with people of wit, intelligence and compassion.

I require a clan with members at least as dedicated (addicted) as myself. =P

I believe WG is all three.

4. Any other comments as to how you got recruited? (optional)

The website is gorgeous. I especially like the music. I believe it is a great recruiting tool on its own and should be played up.
