 Looks like I learned something I didn't know:
The forum skins seem to be stored in the database as well as on disk; the on-disk files are used to display the forum. Looks like when Lordy edited the files through the ACP, it used the DB version(which was old, as I always just edit the disk file and upload it), and then saved it to disk, overwriting my changes.
