Before the wild was taken out of the game clans use to raid mainly on weekends. Every Saturday morning there would be a f2p raid and it would always pull opps. Every runescape clan who was anybody would be out, you were guaranteed action. Since I’ve joined wg I haven’t seen one proper raid or one proper war. I haven’t been to one raid where we get war opps almost and we have a run in with a clan (Revs don’t count) where people die and have to return from edgeville and nobody loots gear until every member of the opposing force is dead. And wars . . . wars these days are the worst of all! Clan wars are by far the worst update that has ever been implemented. Granted it was needed when the wild was removed however since it has been reinstate I can see no reason for it for several reasons. When it’s a "SAFE WAR" it is basically a game of castle wars where all you do is burn food and return as fast as you can. How anybody could rate a clan on its ability to win in safe wars is beyond me. The only use I could possible ever see for them is to practice wars. When it’s a so called "DANGEROUS WAR" like we had today it serves even less purpose in my opinion. What is the point in a dangerous war if when you’re about to die you just leave the friends chat you’re in and get kicked from the war loosing nothing but the items you used to tank? There is none what so ever it only allows for you to return faster which takes no skill what so ever. Yes you get the kill count for it but it still is a pointless activity. I know runescape has advanced as a game since the good old days but I honestly feel that doing this clan wars week in, week out is doing more harm to wg than good. Wg needs a proper raid and it should be f2p. Yes f2p is less exciting and less profitable than p2p but the fact of the matter is every member can get 10+ sets of rune as the cost is minimal. Every member can return numerous times. Every member can USE IN GAME TEXT TO SPAM WG ON " INSERT NAMER HERE" because all you have to focus on is clicking that persons name and spamming the text because you know your not going to get ko'd in seconds. The old system of f2p raids allowed a clan to grow by developing rivalries with other clans who had similar pk times and it game the clan as a whole something to strive for because who doesn’t want to best there rival. It may just be me but I can see no benefit from doing these clan wars events week in and week out and I think that the council should think strongly about moving away from them and if wars are what they want then they should insist on f2p wars in the wild. People can argue that wars in the wild leave clans open to ambush by other clans who may be stalking them or happen to stumble upon them randomly but this is not a bad thing. I've been to several wars where they were crashed and can remember different outcomes form each. I remember when not only did we win the war but we killed all of the crashers as well. I remember when both us and the warring side where wiped out and we joined forces and went back and destroyed the crashers and i remember when we were wiped out we returned and we were wiped out again. Each one of these eventualities will teach a clan member more than a clan wars event ever could and also bounds members together because lets be honest you cant reminisce about winning a clan wars and laugh but you can reminisce about winning in the wild where it actually counts, where nothing is predictable, where anything can happen and nothing is set in stone. Get rid of clan wars, get rid of these snipping rules, go back to proper wars and proper raids, its what made runescape great for a lot of people and I don’t honestly think anyone who played pre bounty hunter days can say they enjoy clan wars more than the good old days --------------------  | ||||

People will come if they go to one and realise there actually fun unlike the clan pking that has been going on but leaders have to let the clan enjoy them by letting people joke for a minute after a big win and not just being all buisness 100% of the time. -------------------- | ||||

Straight off the bat I see in your post what the old WG had. Back in 2005 WG fought rot who at the time were called NH or no honour and we didn't use there cheap tactics but it united us. We fought them in f2p and we beat them and they beat us so we chased them to p2p. P2p was were they excelled but we went with are magic shortbows and are dragon schims and we lost most of the time but this common goal united WG. So if people fight with no honour and we dont have 300 members but we can make allies and we can throw down with the best of them. It's the beauty of f2p it allows a clan to grow due to it's accessibility unlike p2p were a death can be a costly mistake. -------------------- | ||||

So do clans not fight in the wild anymore? Because if that is the reason WG only dose this clan wars shit then I understand it's not wg's fault. However I was led to believe f2p clan wild was still quite active. -------------------- | ||||

They do, but they're harder to find. F2P is still active for sure, but now its spread like a bitch. P2p pvp is to complicated to just do it once in awhile. It takes practice to become good or even useful. While f2p is easy to do for everyone it takes less practice and allows every member to feel useful on the battlefield -------------------- | ||||

Simply put, the gear is always easy to choose and I know what to take to the wars. I don't mind wars in the wildy but still always prefer f2p. I can lose how ever many sets and still have a great time. P2p is okay for once in a while. I'm not one to like to figure out what gear is allowed and what is 250k valued and what the heck do I do with all these pots. F2p is so much more simplified for me. Someone needs to explain to me why during a dangerous CWA you would leave your clan's chat???? That seems wrong to me but maybe I am misunderstanding this. Someone please explain why WG would fight a war with this kind of tatic. I can't imagine that being like a legit thing to do. It seems a bit like unfair or cheating to me. This has been our biggest fallback i feel like, I'm always running around right clicking everything trying to find who we're attacking because either i can't understand the callers accent or they're just saying his name and not his location + gear + level and not true mark - chaos ele, rev trainers shouldn't be killed, people walking to kbd, agility course, etc. -------------------- Best Firemaker in WG no lie   <--- rofl1st joined WG: October 18th, 2005.
