Note: Only Elite Guardians and higher can make events in the wilderness.
If a Guardian/Higher Guardian posts an event, they must first confirm with a Skill Leader, Raid Leader, Community Leader, or Council to set it up. Short prep events made by members will not count towards attendance.

There are a few things you can do to create a stunning clan event.
This short topic offers a few tips on how.

PUBLICITY IS EVERYTHING

So if you want to maximise attendance, you do what McDonalds does.
You advertise like mad and offer incentives.

*** Making a Topic ***
In this forum, specify details, use pictures, get friends to post replies to make the topic seem more alive and anticipated. Build up to it and hold a discussion. Give the times and provide FAQs and perhaps say why it is worthwhile to attend. If you think it is an important event (like a war training event or an event to boost our skills department, PM me and ask for my seal of approval and I will see if it deserves it. My seal of approval may encourage more members to attend, because as soon as you have my seal, it is an official event.

For those of you who are unsure, this is an example of how you can set out the event details:

CODE
[SIZE=5][color=red]What is it?[/SIZE][/color]
[i](What is the event?)[/i]

[SIZE=5][color=red]Date[/SIZE][/color]
[i](Write the exact date, in full (e.g. Monday 24th Cctober))[/i]

[SIZE=5][color=red]Time[/SIZE][/color]
[i](The exact time of the event.)[/i]

[SIZE=5][color=red]Meeting place[/SIZE][/color]
[i](Give a world and a place)[/i]

[SIZE=5][color=red]What to bring?[/SIZE][/color]
[i](State what people need to bring, and what is provided (e.g. steel for a steel war))[/i]

*** Putting it on the calendar ***
Click on CALENDAR in the top right side of the forum page and click ADD EVENT. Then add your event details but be careful. Clan friends can view the calendar. To maintain privacy, just post a link to your topic instead of posting all the details. If you post details your event may get crashed.

*** Putting it on the upcoming events ***
The upcoming events section on our announcement box is not for small events like a last minute decision for castle wars or birthday parties. They are mostly for official clan events. If you have my seal, it means your event is official and you may have it put up in the upcoming events section.

*** THE CHATROOM AND FRIENDLIST ***
The golden rule of advertising: People are LAZY. They'll only come if they don't have to make extensive preparations. Get on the chatroom before your event starts and pull as many people as you can, and notify your friend list constantly. Tell your friends once a day until the event comes. Hire people to recruit for you. Try and make people remember. People don't go out of their way to remember events because they are lazy. Humans are creatures of routine. Give constant reminders, live, not over forums.

*** Maintaining your topic ***

It is important that your topic stays up to date. Check other events to see the tags in square brackets ( [ ] ). This lets others know if the event is coming or has past. Here is what each is:

[Upcomming] - An event to happen any time in the future
[Now] - An event to mass for now.
[Occuring] - optional - Shows others that the event is going on.
[Finished] - An event that has ended
[Recap] - Paritcularly for raids, a run-down of what happened in the event.

For example, if I had planned an agility event for the future the topic title would be:

[Upcomming] Agility event.

You would be surprised how useful doing this really is.
