The epic story of a boy, who's youthful adventures bring him to a place shrouded in darkness.

The Story

Start - It is night time. It is quiet. There is a warm, gentle breeze in the air. The blacksmith has just extinguished his fires, and the bards have left the town square.

1:00 - A mother in one of the houses has tucked her young son into bed, wishing him goodnight. She leaves, but he is not tired. He longs to escape the towns and find an adventure.

1:40 - The boy runs out of the house, and out of the town.

2:00 - Across the meadows, plains and fields he runs... under the moonlight, bursting with energy. The countryside unfolds before him, as he goes further than he has ever gone before.

3:12 - Over one of the hills, the forest appears. He does not know this place. It looks dark, and he is afraid, but he is also curious. He was once warned not to enter a forest alone, but there was a presence about this one that drew him in.

4:03 - A tree spirit appears from the darkness, and approaches the boy. "Come this way sweet child. Follow me. I assure you, no harm will come to you. I know a place in these woods where the grass is softer than anywhere else in these lands, and the water is warm and gentle, and the animals can even talk! Follow me and you can play for as long as you wish." At first, the boy is worried, but then lets go of his fear.

5:03 - The boy follows the tree spirit deeper and deeper into the dark forest.

5:21 - All of a sudden, the boy realizes he is lost, and does not know what to do. He is overcome with fear. The forest spirit is gone

5:31 - He sees moving shapes in the darkness. There are more and more of them. Soon, demons of the woods jump out of the trees. He runs fast, but they are always behind him, hissing and screaming. They want to tear his flesh and eat it, and make claim over his soul.

7:00 - The boy looks back. The demons are gone. He stops to breathe, because the coast is clear. He tries to assemble his thoughts.

7:17 - The demons re-appear and surround the boy. He is screaming for his life but nobody can hear him. He begs the demons to let him go but they will not release him. They start tearing at his clothes and casting their magic on him.

7:33 - The guardian of the forest arrives. He has followed the boy and has come to ward away the demons. His magic sword frightens them away, but not before he slays a few who are escaping.

8:25 - Dawn is here. The guardian leads the boy out of the forest, and tells him firmly "Stay out of the forests. They are no place for a young boy. Stay by the townspeople at all times and do not leave your home at night."

9:27 - Back in the town, the villagers are looking for the lost boy. They are worried, and are searching every building and the nearby plains and farms, but he is nowhere to be found. They are calling out for him. They fear he has been taken away or killed.

10:28 - One of the villagers looks to the far off hill. There, he spots the forest warrior with the boy, and quickly the whole town is alerted. The boy runs back to the town to greet his family and friends, and tells the story of his adventure.

10:58 to End - Picture a camera zooming out. It leaves the town and draws back, revealing the vast fantasy land, with the forest in the distance. The town becomes a speck on the land, and then everything fades.

I liked it, kinda sad that the quality of the sound is a bit off... but without that professional equipment it's hard to get it 100% clear.
It make chills run down my spine. I like, I love. be proud of what you made. I'm sure we all are.

Hehe PERFECT!!
My favourite bit is the main chorus, appears for the first time I think when the boy longs for adventure and stoof.
My second favourite bit is at 7:33, when the guardian arrives and whips out his bling bling magic sword.

Overall you are what this world is all about Lordy.
That's my fave of your compositions, second is Music Royale 69 thing!

That was amazing, Gene.

I really enjoyed listening to it, and I just favorited it so now I can listen to it whenever I feel like it. happy.gif

I'd ask you for the score to give to my Orchestra teacher so maybe we could play it next year, but two things:

A. Doubt you'd want to do that.
B. I think my Orchestra teacher picks out the music for next year in the previous year, so she already knows what we're playing. xD

I've always liked classical music, because unlike the other music I listen to, Classical gets my emotions out. I really loved this piece, because I felt like I could feel the happiness and sadness throughout it.

All in all, keep up the good work, Eugene. You're going to be famous one day, I know you are.

It is awesome, it's like I am right in the story staying right beside the action and feeling the emotions bolt down my spine. Very nice work now that is something to be proud of and to show off. You have got a hell of a talent there Eugene and do not let ANYONE tell you otherwise.
