firstly i am an ex member of wg from a couple of years back and i have attempted to rejoin. i have done the intro filled out the form and posted etc. The question i have is why is it so important to have irc? i have been in the wg_lobby for a while now and although there are quite a few ppl in there nothing is being said, plus the fact (and im not sure if its just the irc program i use or not) i have to run the irc in a separate window and have to keep swapping back and forth from that to rs, it just seems pointless, is it really nessesary?
what happened to using teamspeak? at least when we used to use that you could just leave it running in the background. This is not a moan just giving my you my opinion as someone who is trying to rejoin.

If you are using Swift Switch or Swift Kit then if you open up the internal utilities then there is a build in IRC client there. WG_Lobby can me a bit empty but we are working on it to make more people start talking in there.

IRC is absolutely essential,

Though it may seem that #WG_lobby isnt active (it does get pretty quiet in there at times) you will find #wg (for members only) is very active, 24/7.

IRC is also used for organising, and during most events... and is used in war's and so on.

It will be the IRC program you are using that means you can't use IRC and Runecape at the same time, Most WG members either use Swiftkit, Swiftswitch or Mirc. I personally have used both Swiftkit and Swiftswitch, and both have inbuilt IRC so you do not need to switch.

Mirc is apparently good too, though it is allot more complex than SS or SK.

Swiftkit can be downloaded from: http://www.zybez.net/swiftkit.php

Oh, and TS is still in use, but you will find very few members actually sit in there most of the time. We mainly use it for events now.

lobby is kind of inactive and we are currently taking steps to try to cuase more activity their. I reccomend downloading mIRC and using the option always on top. You can resize the screen and make it fit better at the bottom of your rs client.
