Timeclocks: you NEED those here, EST, AEST, GMT, clan time, war time

TIME CLOCKS ON FORUM PAGE - We need it. I'm not talking about only clan time or EST. And I don't know why these are completely absent now.

Every war we know how important attendance can be and the last thing we want is to be confused with times. It WILL costs us. But instead of ranting about how who and who have carelessly missed out, there needs to be some sort of guides, to help each other.

There use to be time-clocks fitted on the bottom of the forum, they tell time for different regions, covering Europe, America and Asia/Australia. Those are really helpful. And those should be able to auto-calculate daylights when it occurs for affected regions. One look is all that is takes for anyone unsure. I can't emphasize enough.

If its technically impossible to put them up like the last invisionboard then give a link somewhere on the topic of war post or have countdown clocks injected onto the boards across the main menu pages. We've done that before for a short period for a couple huge wars and even an all time anniversary celebration - it helps and also boost morale.

Also, no offence but I find the current time zone convertor cumbersome. So far, this particular link:

http://wwp.greenwichmeantime.com/time-zone/usa/eastern-time/

is the most convenient to use so far I've come across.
- You don't need to select anything.
- It detects your local time, calculates daylight and gives you EST to GMT automatically.

It's not trying to be offensive here but for the benefit of not costing ourselves what we don't want, apply all possible guides. Encourage use of these guides. Give all aids possible before we go wringing on each other's necks again over this.

It's really not worth it.

I agree with Vald on this one.
We definately need clocks on the forums or some sort of time-keeping device, showing the times across the world.
Every few days I get people coming up to me asking me if the times are right
for their events and stuff.

I rarely get confused with timezones myself, but that is because I self-taught myself not to get confused with them a couple of years ago when I started hosting events for different timezones.

The main point to remember is that times across the world CHANGE every few months, eg Britain is currently in BST - British Summertime (GMT+1), however in like.... October/November I think it is we will put our clocks back again and will be GMT.

Yeah, I put those clocks at the bottom ages ago, but they've got lost since we moved forums.

They would be handy (even though IRC is quite useful for event announcing).

The clocks should have been on top of our agenda when moving forums. I wish we remembered early, it just could have altered the outcome.

I am really puzzled why these are not up already. It is one of the easiest ways to boost attendance and ease confusion.

I also like having a count down clock...it removes the need for dealing with timezones and might help morale.
