I feel this deserves an IA... so people will know not to get offended.
Tnuac put it quite correctly.
I am suffering from post-leader syndrome.

I have only ever been a leader for four years, never a member.
I am not used to it and it's really crazy.
I've been having trouble letting go of power.
Um, I didn't do it so suddenly this time... like with Tmal and Twizlers.
I'm letting go much more slowly instead of disappearing all of a sudden.
I don't want to cause another DDay.

But, please forgive me in advance if I throw power around that shouldn't be mine.
I'm really struggling to just let it all go.
Four years in the same rank really grows on you.
I don't know how to be anyone else.

So yeah, this post is just my explanation.
Sorry, I'm trying, and I'm getting there.

But for the books, I am not a leader.
I am not a mod.
If I do any leadership or mod actions, it is power abuse.
I do abuse, but it's becoming less frequent.
The last major abuse was devising the new RSC recruitment system.

So yes, bear with me for a few months while I learn to settle down as a normal member, and not a leader.
It's completely foreign to me and I have 0 experience at it.

I kind of understand how you feel.
I was a leader of a clan in another game for more than a year.
But 4 years. It's a lot.

I know exactly how you feel. Since mid 2006 I've held a leadership position in WG all apart from the 2 months since rejoining after leading Fidelity for 6 months.

It takes a lot of getting used to and it must be even harder for you after 4 years. The time, effort and even money you've invested into this clan is too much to just say bye bye overnight.

It is perfectly fine Lordy. It is tough to let go of something you have so much love and desire for. The time will come when you finally do let go though.

I'm sure as you guided and led the clan for four years, the least we can do is have patience, lordy biggrin.gif Understandably you're going through a tough time, giving up a leadership role was one of the hardest thing Ive ever done RuneScape-wise and so you having been a leader for four years are likely feeling it even stronger ohmy.gif

You'll make it tongue.gif Keep up the good work mate wink.gif

I was going to talk to you, instead of my words getting to you, but guess it still works though lol.

Although I was pretty disappointed at what happened yesterday, I can empathise with this newly-named 'syndrome'. I really saw it coming through, its like releasing a weight off a spring. And I was just in a secondary leader position for half a year, you've been a full-blown leader for 4 years and have suffered opposition that would make many leaders dig their head in the sand and stay there forever. Its a transformation on an unimaginable scale.

Hopefully people will understand (although, you don't really get it until you've been there yourself), and you can somehow release what you've got left. And I hope there's no more confrontations like yesterday's (as I told buzz, its basically bullying when you've got 3+ people against you), its the last thing newer members want to see in the public chat.

Now lets keep the community up hash.png

Oh yeah this syndrome is seen in all sorts of clans and events like this I bet.

And I can relate with what you're going thru, going from leader to a future applicant of another clan. Of course leading a clan for this long, not to mention founding it, must make this a real toll on you.

I believe I can speak for the clan when I say that you're totally the coolest member we have. cool.gif

I wouldn't call actions that benefit the clan "abuse" (the RSC Recruitment scheme).
That's not abuse.
Kb'ing people in the IRC (mainly me laugh.gif tongue.gif) is though, but i'm glad to see that you've stopped.
Dw about it matey
