This is a bit of a rant about IRC.

Now I have no idea what the issue of late has been, but I think it has something to do with our over-reliance on overcomplicated systems.
The fact is that we really do not need such an intricate security measure in place unless it is going to work everytime.

The last couple days it has been frustrating to have to wait for someone to voice people, or someone to get a script going, or someone to change the key so people can get in, etc... It's really just a hassle.

Plus we are having to promote half ops to Ops just to keep the channel running and that shouldn't happen.

All I'm saying here is you need to look at the system and simplify it so that it isn't a big deal if one person (IE Robbiebot) is having issues. It is a huge frustration not to be able to get in IRC when it is the main way we communicate.

I don't know if this means considering just going back to a key or what....but I think we have a lot of unnecessary stress and hassle for security that is not even a big deal in today's clan world.

I think we should just do a key or just access people in the lobby to level 3?

i tihnk this system is fine. alot more safe, even if robbie goes down for abit, it has still been fine for the past whatever amount of time. no need to change something unless it is broken, and no one has complained about it before now.

Agreed and all.
I reckon we don't even need a key.

It's been down for the past week or so and Robbie doesn't know what is wrong with it.
I never complained in the past because although it was overcomplicated it worked...and that isn't a fight worth having. However when you have an intricate system, it goes wrong sometimes, and our backup plan is not good right now.

Plus the clan world right now offers no incentive to spy really.
No one is trying to break into #WG and yet we have put up like 35 barriers anyways.

I also know we almost lost at least one trial member who was frustrated at trying to get into IRC.
