 I was just thinking that a !event script could come in very handy to notify people of when our next event is, what it is, where we're massing etc. Ops could type !setevent <event details>.

I'm not sure how you would write this but I'm sure some of you are 1337 irc laugh.gif

 Good Idea, but rather doing !setevent. I bet Robbie could connect it to the forum somehow to set it itself! He is super like that tongue.gif He made the cool invite script, Maybe we should ask him whenever he is free smile.gif

 It is a good idea, we used it for awhile in Rampage, but it would mean people would use irc only to find events, not check site.

 Do you know what would be neat?
If event/raid leaders put either [Skill] or [War] in front of the event, whichever they thought was more appropriate.

Then Robbies bot could search for those tags in the topic title and copy the thread link so people could do !war or !skill and it would link them to the next event

Don't forget that robbie's got a lot to already, with this rs name validation script and whatever else on the forums. Its a difficult if not an impossible task to get info from the forums onto the IRC when its not in set boxes (like the username is).

The event leaders should set it.

Yeah, only when Robbie has the time. It's not hugely important right now as it's pretty easy to just check the forums.

And I agree with Tmal as that is a great idea happy.gif

 Hmm, might write one like that, but it wouldn't do what robbie could do. It would be one that you would need to type !setevent (Event). Sounds simple enough lol.

 I agree that getting it from the forums into IRC would be hard. It would require having to move things around on the forums to make it work, because things would constantly be moving for the sockets to access.

I am not a pro at scripting/socketing so maybe I am wrong. Either way it is something that could be mentioned to Robbie to see if it is possible.

 we did this a lot way before dday and it worked quiet well, but after that it sort of stopped and died away.

 If it were possible (im not too sure), then it could be useful if Robbie was able to list upcoming events in the events forum. If not, i've pasted an event script in a security forum if it's considered necessary to use.

 We used to use this script before, but whenever the key was leaked some RoT member came in and got all of our raid times.

With this new system and the idea that you cant get crashed anymore i think its an ok idea to bring it back.
