Hey, I'm currently a Trial Guardian, been in WG for only 3 weeks, and I only have about 1 more week till I get the boot for not going for phase 2 quick enough. The reason I'm posting here is because I think that phase 2 is too hard to complete right now and I doubt that I can complete it currently.

First a little about my time here in WG so far. I've been pretty active at wilderness events, attending usually 3-4 a week. I'm going for only wilderness sector right now, but I still do appear at quite a few skills events; nearly 10 by my count. I have over 50 WG members/trials added right now. But, I simply can't pass the WG exam or get the 14 member screen shot, which is why I'm posting here.

I understand that recruitment is a big thing in WG right now, so the recruitment process should be as fair and updated as possible. However, I noticed that on the Sector Changes and Graduation thread, there have only been FOUR posts, all of which are sector changes. So it's pretty fair game to assume that the current requirements are a bit too hard to fulfill.

First, the exam. Each member must receive a score of 75% or higher to pass the exam. I've been pretty active, but some of these questions were so outdated i simply had no clue what was being asked or who it was talking about. Then I looked at the bottom and saw "Last updated: Sunday September 09, 2007." Then a few questions arose in my mind while taking the exam. For example, in the matching question (the second), it mentioned "renoldojr10". I knew from order of elimination which title he was, but after the exam, i !clan ed him. He was not even in WG, which annoyed me. Also, a few questions later, i was asked to fill in the blank: "We're not gonna ___". I stay in IRC pretty often, and i read what others say, and I go to a lot of events, but i have never heard this even once. Also, in the Wilderness test, It still asks questions about the wilderness...despite BH being the new way of PKing. If members need to pass this, it needs to be more up-to-date.

Finally, there's the member screen shot. I know you need this to know if the applicant has been active and talking to others. Not much I can complain about on that, however, I would like to see the requirement lowered a bit, to maybe 10 members. I went to the BK war and the war against the Empire, but i still couldn't get those 14 names all at once. At the BK war, we only had 13 :S. I added 50 members and trials, shouldn't that count for at least something as well?

I'm sorry for being a little annoying about this issue, however I cannot become a member with these requirements, and recruitment is a very big deal now. Please consider what I wrote and hopefully a compromise can be made where recruitment is easy, but fair.

Please post some suggestions/comments/criticisms if you have any. I realize this is a big issue that affects most clan members, so I'd love to hear what you think.

Thanks for reading

Totally agreed on this!

The graduation exam is too hard and outdated for us to complete. I can graduate from trial guardian tomorrow, and even though I dedicated 3 hours of gathering info and examining, I couldn't get it anywhere near 60% (Highest was probably 55%) This ain't fair for us who wants to be fully fledged with WG sad.gif

And for the 14 person picture. It's almost impossible to. Everybody is either attending school or at work, which makes it hard to top 7 online members tops when online. And not even events can get us the required amount.

I know that it's going to be changed, but it's just to tell you that Chip isn't the only one with this opinion.

Completly agree on this.
Ive been a trial since early Novemeber ive attended most events skills and fighting so on the whole im pretty active and im sure most members would agree. Getting a screenshot of 14 members is a complete pain considering the last time ive ever seen this many online at any given time was the aniversary event..

Ive tried both graduation exams and managed a max score of 68% on skills and 59% on fighting.. Ive noticed many of the questions are outdated.
Since then ive tried the exams over an over and im struggling to get over 50%.. Looks like i'll never graduate. Despite posting two graduation topics on the old forums in the past.

Yes, We're trying to reduce the pass mark, and yes, there will be an updated version when Eugene gets here...Which is about 1.5 Weeks. So do hold on, if you surpass the one month date in which you need to graduate, it'll be automatically extended.

We're thinking to reduce the passmark to 50%. If you need help & Tips, please come to me & ask.

Erm, I'm not gonna mention what I got on the exam when I tried it out... But yeh, in order for it to work right... The questions have to be updated. Because I'm on so much through the different time zones, I did have 2-3 different pics of friends online.

Yes I do think for now that rule shouldn't stand, as there arn't many events for trials to attend to graduate with.

For now, attend any events you can, fun, skilling or fighting. Just try your hardest to get attendance and screenies.

the exam actually is pretty hard+also parts of it are out of date.

I read it all, and don't know what to say. But if members like Chip and Syg can't get through Phase 2 then it is too hard. These two guys would both be great members in WG I assure you. Based off of that, I agree with everything biggrin.gif

The exam passmark has been lowered to 50%, until Eugene comes back and updates it again.
The friendlist picture has been lowered to 10 friends.
By the way, It's not Phase 2, It's called Trial Guardian Graduation tongue.gif.

Sorry it took so long, Thank you for noting out the problem, Chip.
