Well after a long hard 7 weeks of CWPL I have decided to introduce my idea of Skill Wars once again. Finally we enter the skills again and need to keep that part going in WG. For those of you who don't know just some history on the past two times I held it.

First Skills War Vs. BoS - 18m Exp. - We won.
Second Skills War Vs. TBE - 31m Exp. - We won.

So far we are undefeated in the competition. The rules are that there are 3-5 people in each skill depending on the number of people wanting to participate. Each skill with have its on forum (within a sub-forum) with a list posted of starting exp and of who is in each group. The group can organize events and train together in this week. In each group I will nominate a leader who will keep track of exp with each member and at the end of the week, each leader pms me who much exp each person made in the competition and as a group. Each member can take part in two skills. We add all of these up to get the overall exp. We compare our stats with the opposing clan, each skill we have more exp in we get 1 point. The clan with the most points wins. Easy enough to understand. Tell me what you think please. I am willing to take charge of it myself like the previous two times. Thank you for the time!

The reward for each clan is the right to post the winning banner. This event is intended to be more of a getting together and interacting with other group mates type thing than full out skilling. Have fun and make some friends while you are at it.

~Ali

P.S. I would like to mention that the past couple of weeks people just been like banging on my door, and been so ignorant of the idea of me making Skill of the Week and Skill Wars (not acknowledging that I made them) , that is why I am so protective over this idea. I hope you guys understand. Thanks. <3333

George and I had been talking about it, but didn't want to try it with the CWPL or the Pro Silentium going on... Maybe if we don't have CWPL we can manage Skill Wars. TDM for the 3rd try is a good idea. happy.gif Bribery with bananas gets you a lot!

I support this idea. IMHO skills is dying a slow death in WG. This would certainly boost our skill activity and its a great way to have fun for all members. And just because it isn't combat doesn't mean training for it isn't important.

I urge council members and Abs to consider this with a lot of thought, and allow Ali to do this. Most of us recognize his past experiences in making these events a huge success, and I have no doubt that he could pull this off again. Please don't let this suggestion die.

It would not take that long I mean 1 week won't kill, I was thinking along the lines of our allies such as TBE, TDM(as you mentioned), 3V0.

I agree, I think a skill war would be really good for us right now and I'm a Warlord so that's saying something.

Depending on if we rejoin the CWPL next season or not (still undecided, I want more people's opinions) we should definately get one.

If we do hold one (hopefully we do) I will take a week and maybe 2 weeks, whichever the clan favors, I will hold a poll if accepted. This skill war can be easily squeezed into our schedule.

I honestly think that skills as well as community is dying in WG, and its necessary for skills to stay alive to keep the community alive. Skilling brings everyone together, which is essential for easy communication. The end result is creating new friends within the clan, and everyone is happy.

At the current moment I do have a few friends in WG, but I think it would be so much easier to meet new people by having large skilling events such as this. Don't think of it as a skill war, think of it as WG's community getting together and becoming closer than ever in order to kick another clan flat on their asses when it comes to skilling smile.gif.

Overall, I feel that without skilling there is a great lack in community. Wars are not the only important thing in a clan, and we must respect that some people joined WG for the supposed skilling and community atmosphere, lets try to give them that!

Like I said in IRC; I was absolutely thinking about a new skill olympics after we're through PS maybe sooner if we can work it in. Love the idea and by the looks of it others were thinking about it too so I'm sure we'll be able to organise one soon.

+1

I got shot down on my idea of a skill war During PS... I wanted to take on the idea of another skill war, but it got rejected.

I'd say yes. It was great fun last time hash.png

Most of the clan was united in skilling, in order to win the war. We did great and gained levels. Its a lot of work organizing it, but since Ali is willing to, I can't really see a downside to it.

If this happened, I'd be more than willing to support it and join in. cool.gif

I remember the one we had with 3v0 (pretty sure it was 3v0), was like during the end of 2007 or something.

I see no reason why the Council would reject this idea which will help boost the skilling aspect of our clan. Good luck Ali smile.gif

I love skilling. While I been sick combat has been on hold so I'm ready to train combat too. I would be willing to work any skill assigned to me not partial to any one.

Doing this at the time of PS and CWPL would completely destroy it, it would be a waste of time.
So wait a little and we'll see k? wub.gif

Same thing I thought. Although, I am really looking forward to it, we should wait until PS finishes. It's a wonderful idea to do it again, though as it will give the skillers in WG a chance to really participate in something they'll really enjoy.

Can we make a MASSIVE, I MEAN ABSOLUTELY GINORMOUS skill war with all our allies and have everyone who wants to take part instead of just the selected 5 or how many their usually is. It would be epic.

There was a skill war sort of like this containing a lot of skill clans such as SS, SU, SER and FoM. There were probably a few more but I can't remember. It would be a great idea to have our allies and us compete in a massive skill war, glad you brought it up. It would give us a chance to see the other side of them other than the occasional fights and practices.

Well all those pro skilling clans have skill wars on a weekly bases... But if we do come to a skill war, i'll make sure we have competition. Our allies aren't much of the skilling types.
