First of all let me say I tried as hard as I could to make this easy on you guys. I avoided RS and IRC for 2 weeks to make it seem like I was unnecessary so you all could say "Good riddance he didn't do anything". Whatever makes you feel better.

Now also please note I served my 2 weeks, I just never announced it.

The reasons I'm leaving:

1. Council/Primary Leader: The council is full of very nice people who don't want to step up. For whatever reason everyone just kind of stays to their niche and doesn't bother to do anything else. When asked to step up no one is excited to do more. As for the primary leader. Abs is a very nice guy and has always been a friend of mine. He just was too quick to veto when we were finally in the mood to work, and then he disappears when we need him most. But oh well that's life.

2. Tertiaries: Another group of very nice people. However in my opinion the tertiaries feel entitled and it isn't really healthy. I notice a few or more people kind of walking around as though they are in charge and not caring about approval or council input at all. It's good to have leader type characters, but not those who think that WG owes them.

3. Higher/Elites: I've never really seen a group think they deserve promotions more. Basically the entire lot thinks they are the next best thing since sliced bread and it is really a killer to the balance of the clan. The fact of life is that few are leaders, many are followers. We have too many who think they are leaders.

4. Members: Too many people saying what is wrong with WG and not wanting to be the one to fix it or do their part.

5. Activity: WG is inherently inactive. I don't know how to solve it and don't see it improving. No one in this can can be f**ked to play RS it seems. When I was playing 2 weeks ago I would see about 2 people online at any given time.

6. Community: The one thing I think has improved in the last month. Community is getting there, but not fast enough for my tastes.

7. RS: The game bores me now. I wanted to get active for WG, but I just didn't feel it.

8. RL: I am going to be a sophomore in college. I'm about to turn 20. My GPA is bad and my social life could use improvement. I don't need anymore distractions. Time to take life by the horns.

Overall I came into council expecting it to be the same or similar to what it was before, and it wasn't. There are too many flaws that are going to take too long and too much effort to fix. They CAN be fixed, but without someone's, probably council's, labor and full days of hardwork, it won't happen. I don't have the energy to be the one.

I'm sorry to those of you who voted for me and surely now regret it. It was your choice then and it is your choice to regret it now, no sense stopping you.

I feel like WG has a lot to learn from the WG of old. Instead of ignoring it, you should embrace it and take the best of all worlds. Never is it ok to say "Things have changed so you oldies can fak off". Some of those guys deserve to be in this clan regardless of what happens and they are run out the door. It's really a shame.

I'm not going to give shoutouts because I would miss too many. Frankly I will miss hundreds of you past present and future, but my place is no longer in this clan.
My days on Runescape are done, my time in the clan world is over. I will soon retire from RSC as well and you will not be burdened with my face anymore.

After my 3 days I am going to request that I am either deleted or banned. I have worn out my welcome here and even I know that. I have no desire to stick around as emeritus and pretend to be a positive influence when I am not.

Good luck WG in the future.
With all of the people who think they are leaders in the clan, surely there are enough to fix any problems that may arise.

If anyone needs to contact me or wants to keep in touch:
Feel free to drop an email to [email protected] or try and pm me on RSC or catch me on msn. The latter two will eventually fade and disappear so email is your shot.

Take care all.

My original join date: August 17, 2005
Interesting fact: I joined the same day as Xena1168 and Firelion
I joined because of an RL friend, Lord Art18
My mentor and best friend for ages was Panther12412
I credit myself with nearly 50 recruits and Zlatan83 was the only one to make it past member.
My most consistent friends were Mangomaniac2 and Twizlers300.
My best friend of late has been DZ.

Nearly 3 years here off and on and my time is up.
Take care guardians, perhaps I will check in a few months from now.

Don't know what to say Tmal. Its a little unfortunate that you were only willing to list what is wrong with everyone in a bit of a negative way. But anyways, You've had a lot of history here in WG, a bit over a month more than I did. But in your time, you've proven yourself so much more than I, and were truely a valuable member. According to recent trends, I think we might be seeing you return. But who knows, maybe this time is really for good. Best of luck to you outside of WG/RS. It is pretty clear that your mind has been made up.

Anyway. Tmal, you havm't overstayed your welcome.
As long as WG is here, you will always be welcome.

Tmal, though I never knew you well when I first joined WG (you weren't a member then) I saw some of your posts and most importantly your signature. To me, you embodied everything I wanted to be, if I recall correctly you had cleared a record number of combat courses (tied with Tnuac maybe) and one of the highest raid attendance badges I ever saw anyone have. You being an RSC moderator was like icing on the cake, all you needed was to have been a player moderator and member of WG and I would have worshipped you every moment of every day. tongue.gif But I digress, as with DZ decisions have been made and good luck with your life as well. Do not give up hope on WG, so far we/they seem to have this annoying tendency to bounce back when you least expect it (good ole days of raids of 5 people on average 10 at best). There is a time for everything in the world and maybe it is not the time despite the efforts to the contrary to change it that WG pulls itself back up by its bootlaces but please don't cut your ties completely for there may still be a time when WG will need you again and more importantly you will need WG.

PS I'm not sure what I just said but I hope you can make sense of it somehow. hash.png

Not really too sure what to say, which direction to go on. On one hand, you're an extremely valued person in WG with A LOT of achievements, contributions, and effort into the clan; But on the other hand you took up a well-sought-for Council spot a month(?) ago, and have already decided to give up, and claim things are 'fixable but you dont want to/can't put in the effort'.

From what I can make of things, you're a very intelligent person, you know how things work. You know how to run things, what would be best, who's who, what's what etc. I can only imagine how it must have been with you as Primary Leader. Things must have been pretty good. Your reputation preceeds you and everyone knows who you are and what you're made of.

However, as I pointed out, you, instead of allowing others to give Council a shot, people who intend on (and would still be) having a go at solving these problems. Tbh, you did a good job with the inactivity sweep. In my opinion we are almost there... I just don't quite understand why you've chosen now to leave. Imo, you should reconsider this, and also give a true two weeks notice so that you can further reflect on your decision.

Having said that, I personally respect whatever decision you made (despite hoping you reconsider), and wish you the very best of luck with whatever you do in the future; especially concerning RL.

On a smaller note, you say that you saw two people playing on RS at one time? :S I logged on today for the first time in a few days to get to a war event and saw immediately one and a half pages of my friends list was online w27 :S I'd say WG is increasing in activity, and as you stayed off RS for the past two weeks (Remember over the past two weeks yoour inactivity check has had some effect...) you didn't notice the increase in RS activity.

Good luck, Tmart hash.png

What i meant by a true two weeks notice is like letting the clan know and helping us to facilitate his targets to help make WG a better place/community etc. As in, he's now given two weeks notice over this leaving post, and how i was hinting him to stay another two weeks hash.png

This is truly a shame, you came back for this? To get council and then leave.
Your two weeks imo should have been public.
I hope things go well for you in life. Take care Thomas.

It is sad to see yet another go. This makes 3 people that I really enjoy being around and talking to in WG gone in the same day. A sad day, but hopefully one of the last for a while.

I have noticed that you have not been active lately and I was kind of questioning that due to being promoted council close to a week or two before. I suppose my answer has finally shown up.

Goodbye. Good luck in real life.

Welll what to say.
We've had our differences these last few weeks Thomas, and tbh you should have told me in confidence that you had already posted your 2 weeks notice privately, then I wouldn't have needed to pm you about the event inactivity thing..
Oh well.
You had a good run as I can see from your rank log, step aside and let someone else have a go ohmy.gif

Take care
