Just don't take the advice from people not even in the clan anymore. This absolutely contradicts my advice but honestly Wg needs to go in the direction of whatever you the people in Wg want it to go. Not what outside people want it to be like. Do what you all have to do.

LMAO...what a blind statement there. You realize that YOU'RE not in WG anymore so your statement just made no sense whatsoever. Thanks though, I'm sure you thought long and hard about it.

The clan is going to do whatever it wants, regardless of what we "outsiders" think or say. It's always been that way and it will remain to be. I use the word outsiders in quotations because contrary to some people's beliefs, just because one can't see all forums, don't mean they don't know what's going on. It's called friendships. I know more than half the clan thinks I know. Just because I'm not there, don't mean I don't have people coming to me for advice or letting me know what's going on. To think they wouldn't do that is very much an understatement.

Rick how does bitching about the current clan's state help? Seriously just leave it be.

+1 to what General had to say.

Rick, it was a small post, I don´t know how you could have missed the part where he admitted that he was contradicting himself.

Overall though, I am going to have to agree with Rick here, I think completely ignoring the advice of ex-members is the wrong way to go. For one, as Rick stated it simply will not work, because there are informal channels that people like Rick have access to. I would rather ex-members state their advice publicly, so that if it is bad we at least have a chance to tear it apart (see Bassism's topic).

I do place value on the input of ex-members: at best they have good advice, and at worst their bad advice forces us to define and defend our current policies. For example, Bassism's topic...it was completely horrible advice, but in the process we produced some good posts that justified why we should keep the name WG.

Twiz, where in my post did I bitch about the clan's state? You can give your + signs all you want, it won't change how someone feels.

Thanks Karl. I didn't miss where he said that at all. I guess my point is, why make a post that contradicts the point you're trying to make? That makes entirely no sense whatsoever.

Stop what? Asking questions?

In case you don't know me, ask around...this is what I do. I ask questions when I don't understand something. Perhaps you should try it, you'll probably do better in school.

Yer but your questions, actually most of your posts, are more along the lines of trying to make the other person look bad by proving your point. It's just how you are, that's why arguing and stuff doesn't work. You'll still be yourself, like you were in the past.

That doesn't matter though, just as long as you know when to draw the line. Like Maths said. But this all doesn't relate to the topic anyway.

Actually Twiz, it is kind of the other way around...Rick tends to try to prove his point by making the other person look bad. Actually, most of the time the point gets completely lost, and he just tries to make the other person look bad.

As far as I am concerned though, Rick can bitch all he wants so long as he does pretend to be the victim and whine about being "prosecuted" when we defend ourselves.

Nice try for an insult.
I'm in university.
And in case you doubt my intelligence..
Its a bachelor of mathematics + bachelor of engineering (elec).

Oh and yes, a course gpa so far of 6.25.

So go shove it rick.

Actually wait up.
You're trying to insult and ask questions about members you don't even know?
How thick are you.
Why don't you try to get to know people and the whole community of wg before you start posting your suggestions.
Oh and you may hear some "aspects" of the community for a few people....
But they probably think the sun shines out of your ass, so its not really that good of a source.

Last time I checked, General wasn't a member so it makes it a little harder to get to know him, now don't it?

What matters is that you all are finally getting a taste of how alot of us feel when we come around here and get bitched at for doing nothing more than making suggestions (whether you agree with them or not), asking questions, or giving our opinions.

Karl, you said it yourself in a previous post that you welcome comments, questions, and input from former members, so why is it when we come over and do just that, we get put down, screamed at and made to feel inferior?

Take a good hard look at the forums and you tell me that how we were treated was fair. It shouldn't matter WHAT the topic is, the responses from this clan were less than friendly.

That's actually the bottom line here.

This thread is going off-topic, to once again a personal vendetta between Rick vs members.

No point in having another of these repetative arguments.

This thread is locked for 12 hours for a cooling-off period before it will then be re-opened for on-topic discussion.

Mugger...you just don´t get it do you. You see, Rick is a rare creature (actually quite common around these parts) known as a forum troll, and the best way to deal with forum trolls is to lure them into a forum where they can argue and rant, but not everyone has to put up with it. So we created this forum, under the guise of getting advice from all staff, when the real function of this forum is to keep forum trolls like Rick out of the Guest and Hello/Goodbye forums that they usually inhabit. The reason only staff are allowed here, is that the large majority of forum trolls have an appetite for gaining ranks, and those staff who are not forum trolls are fairly well trained (although to be honest Maths could probably use a bit more training) at dealing with Rick and other forum trolls.

Now, it is important that we simulate their natural environment, and so we have to keep a good supply of topics open where they can rant and flame freely like they do in the wild. Now, most times the forum trolls with create these topics themselves, however if things here settle down in this forum, then they might start hunger for the other forums where they once inhabited. With this in mind we sometimes have to step in and create our own topics as bait to entice them to stay here.

It was a bit desperate, but the current topics were getting too stale to appease the appetite of Rick, probably the most troublesome of the forum trolls, and so we had to enlist the help of Nolan to create a new topic that would be simple yet effective troll bait. The key here was keeping the topic so short that it could easily degenerate into pointless arguing, and adding in an inherent contradiction, which most forum trolls cannot resist pointing out, no matter how obvious it may already be to everyone else.

So please Mugger, do not lock topics in the future here, let the forum trolls frolic freely in this controlled environment so that they do not get the urge to venture off and reclaim their old stomping grounds.

Btw, this is mere fun and is not intended to offend, ill post something serious later tongue.gif

Wow Karl, and you won the "most mature" medal?

Wouldn't that have been better off sent in PM instead of posting it here KNOWING that it would piss me off and force me to respond?

Didn't Mugger just say to stop the irrelevant posts? Yet here you are showing the people that can view this, just how mature you are.

Kudos Karl.

Oo...actually I thought you would find it funny. You are right, it was pretty much irrelevant, but I guess it was my failed attempt to lighten the mood.

As I said before, I will make a serious post later. I apologize if my sense of humor has offended you...not that I have much care if you are offended by my words, but I would rather you be offended when I am being serious than when I am just trying to make you and others laugh a bit.

I don't think calling me names is very funny, especially when it isn't warranted.

Okay, so you say you don't care if you offend me, but let ME offend someone or something that you believe in, and you are all over me like flies on shit.

Where's the line being drawn?

I've already had a talk with Mugs...PRIVATELY about this entire situation. If you have a problem with that and continue with what you are doing, who's looking like the troll...and the fool?

You want to debate, we'll debate.
