I don't know why I'm posting this. The way I've been treated in the past doesn't speak well of the new WG but nontheless, I have promised from the beginning to always share Grimson news with WG so here goes.

Lordy decided he didn't want to do anything non graphical so the mud is out.
What we will do instead is use a professional grade engine called Multiverse.
The best part of that is, it's free to use unless we charge our users, then they take a cut off the top and registration and payment and everything is handled through the multiverse site so we don't need MySQL and web specialists to code in a payment option.
This again requires me to become much better at Java and Python than I am so it will likely be a slow transition. Things with the mud was so simple but this wont be.

In other news, I have set up new forums for us.
Grimson Entertainment Community.
The forums are much better and includes all the catergories the old forums did and some extra things.
You are more than free to visit and make a board account to keep up with everything happening in Grimson.

Grimson are also recruiting. I have tried countless times to recruit of WG forums and it has never worked out but I will give it a final attempt. We offer a team that has been working on games 8+ years. A large design document that is often being modified and a powerfull game engine that is opensource, we can modify to our hearts content.
We need: Very creative individuals who can devote atleast a few hours a week to the game. We need you if you have very good ideas for a game (That works within our setting), if you can model in maya or 3Ds max, if you can program in Java or Python. Only apply if you are dead serious about game making
We also offer a percentage of total earnings depending on how much you did on the team, if we decide to make it pay 2 play (People who only join to get rich but doesn't work for it, doesn't get paid)

If you join our team, we expect you to work. People who join the team and then doesn't make an effort, write a single post in their first 2 weeks and get nothing done will be excluded from the team.
If you join the team, you must join our forums, there's no two ways about it.

Anywho, go ahead and join our forums. I am sure many exciting things will happen at Grimson in the following months.

Oh yeah I'm excited.
I've been wanting to get Shadowcast off the ground since early 2004.

DBN, Is it easy to do that sort of modelling?
I can you just stick shapes together and give them a texture, or is there a lot of math involved?

After a back and forth on the Grimson forums with Lordy, we have come to the conclusion that flash will let us do everything we want to do.
So now I have ordered flash and am just waiting for it to arrive.
This sure as hell better be our last time we switch languages. I have an incredibly annoying habbit of switching languages when we're already begun.
I apologise for that.
Now just let me get well up to speed on this new flash thing and we'll create exciting things. =)
I'll leave the pictures up on the forums for now to give you a little teaser of what Shadowcast could have looked like. =P
It's back to the drawing board for us now though.
