I'm sorry Simon but I disagree with you here where you say 'half naked women are okay', an image being offensive is a personal thing and though some people may feel that half nudity is fine others may not. Yes I am sure that a 13 year old could easily go to a beach to see people dressed the same as those shown in Lego's and Dale's sigs, but in those cases it is their parent's responsobility to censor/educate them. It is our (The leadership's) responsoibility to act as the hypothetical parents on these forums, and I know for sure that some people would find semi nudity offensive, its sure as hell not what I come and play RS to see. Not that these new rules apply to me in any way whatsoever, but I think that you are all being too uptight about everything, its becoming ridiculous. Wayne's first post, in my opinion, is the only valid argument against these signatures at the moment. You don't want your 7 year old brother/sister/cousin walking into your room and asking "Whats that?" On the other hand, if we have people age 13 (or less) they probably see this stuff constantly online. So why should our boards be any different? The PG13 rule was thought to be fair, because most of us are (or close to) the age of 13. Why should this rule change if we all meet the "age requirement" so to speak, to view such material. Overall I think its absolutely awful that you are trying to censor anything, when there is nothing to really be censored in the first place. Seriously, when did we become so damn strict on the rules? Usually I'd agree with you, I've found several favorite authors by looking up titles of banned books (Robert Cormier and Kevin Henkes, for example). I read Fahrenheit 451 after I heard it was a book about censorship and that it had actually been illicitly censored by the publisher without the author's consent, and found out it was an incredible book. For one, the arguments that "we have all seen our own bodies, its ok" and "we are all old enough" *are* valid, and heck, I would bet that most of WG is masturbating to porn by 15 anyways, so I can't really say its not OK when coming from that angle. However, the other side is, do we really want that as the image portrayed when a guest reads the forums? Or if a parent/other non-wg member sees a WG member browsing the forums? It really is immature. I would like to say no, keep these out of our signatures, keep em in topics in the Gallery(However, we aught to add a [NSFW] designation to such topics), however I will agree that its not a clear cut issue. What it all boils down to, in my opinion, is what type of image we want to present to the outside world.
