That's not why I'm leaving, although I don't blame you for thinking so since I expect most all the posts here will be by people who assume that it is.

I'm considering leaving because people here evidently think I'm more of an asshole for asking for the rules to be enforced than they are for not giving a shit about how their actions effect the rest of us. If that's how they feel about this issue then that's how they'll feel about every issue that surfaces on to infinity, and I'd rather not put up with it.

We're put through a pretty hefty graduation process in order to join this clan. Consider this my way of seeing whether or not this clan cares enough for me to stay in it. Is that immature? I guess so, but right now I'm pissed off enough to want to make this point, and this was the clearest way I could think of doing it. And I am willing to go through with it.

You can kind of consider this me going on strike. If the strike fails, I'm willing to lose my job over it.

Let me put this another way. Let's say I'm renting a place near campus, with three roommates. The rules say you can't smoke in the house, but they don't care, and the landlord doesn't really mind either. Now factor in that I have asthma. I mention that smoking should be kept out of doors, and give reasons why that's the case (aka, it makes me sick). But because the landlord doesn't care, neither do they. So I say that if the smoking indoors doesn't stop, I'm leaving.

That brings us up to this thread, IMO. I REALLY WANT TO STRESS THAT I'M NOT TRYING TO BE AN IMMATURE BRAT! I've spent over an hour on this thread already trying to express my opinion the best way I know how, in a way that might possibly make it clear that something here has got to give. This isn't a threat at all, more like a ditch effort to get some serious attention to this topic. If it doesn't work, then I guess I'm screwed.

He could lose his job because of the content displayed on WG forums. Clearly he has a legitimate complaint that warrants the use of drama, given that the other more reasonable approaches he has tried have failed.

That's kind of a retarded thing to say for someone who is "trying to help out the wg community."

Like I said when I took my sig off when I found out people were offended by it, i'll easily remove it rather then fight over it.

Now you going on "strike" over some topic you could of simply asked me to take off is childish.

The only reason it was still there is due to the fact I totally forgot about it, all you had to do was drop me a pm.

Anyway, the topic is gone now by my request and it something you could of done without some post cussing up a storm about.

The most reasonable approach would of been to talk to the person directly, tell them the situation, and ask them to remove it.
It really doesn't get more simple then that.

While Maths technically is right, I'd find it hard to believe that you've never been browsing a website you weren't supposed to while in school/work.

Originally (I believe) the argument was that you parents/children/young siblings could see such pictures that they probably shouldn't see yet. But as we take it into the workplace, it does escalate to a certain level. From a legal standpoint, I don't think its possible for you to be fired if a website you view happens to contain a woman in a bikini. Then again, what do I know about the U.S. federal laws -.-.

Anyways I basically hate the fact that WG has to be so strict because everywhere else I go (such as other game forums I browse), people are open about everything. We don't need a sex forum to discuss issues like that, and if we do we don't get banned for it. I'm just used to openness, and I hate that I have to restrict myself while I'm on this board.

My final judgment... if it can make someone lose their job, is it really worth it?

I'm actually allowed online, lol. I work at the campus library and all the actual "work" I have to do usually doesn't take more than an hour per shift. Besides that you're just sitting behind a desk answering questions and checking people out. As long as you're instantly responsive whenever someone comes up to ask you about something we can pretty much do whatever ... I was playing Boxhead for like an hour last Saturday (slowest day ever IMO; everyone's either sleeping in or in the middle of a hangover).

GOOD! It was my misunderstanding as well, the part I quoted (and removed, so I didn't actually get MYSELF fired since I'm at work right now) was posted after Tabs and I had posted our threads, which made it more of a slap in the face than a joke. But it wasn't, and I obviously wasn't 110% level-headed last evening.

So, I owe you an apology. Sorry I acted like a complete moron.
