I would just like to say...
Wherever possible I'd like WG run using an honour system.
MEANING:

If there is something you want changed, avoid asking for a rule to be made. We don't need to make complex rules for everything... otherwise imagine how hard it would be for a new member to learn the ways.

Instead of making a rule, it would be far easier to just discuss things and come to an agreement and have clan members collaborate without the need for a rule.

For example, minimum time in an event to count as having attended.
Instead of making it "You should stay for a certain amount of time to count as having attended" I personally prefer just having an honour system. You know its unfair to come to an event for a few minutes and be counted in attendance, so you don't count yourself. We can avoid implementing a rule. If there are members that abuse the honour system enough times they can be dealt with by the leadership.

So in summary, avoid proposing rules to keep a minority of people in check. It's much better if things can be worked out with an honour system, and no rules. It's better to motivate people rather than threaten them... and that's the meaning behind this week's message of the week:

I 100% agree.
This is why the weekly TS Meetings have been such a success, because they allow us to talk about things like adults, to discuss new suggestions and things.
I couldn't agree more with that message of the week, I regularly say the equivalent.

If you can't respect and agree with each other in such a way, everything else is pointless. Well said sir. hash.png

Sorry for bumping this (I read it just didn't post).

I like the honour system, its good and awesome for our community, but we have some inactivity in our ML, which unless cleared would make this honour system more difficult imo.

I really agree here, I think having an honour system encourages members to take some responsibility for their own actions. When a rule is in place the rationale that one should or should not do something is because of the rule and the resulting punishment or reward. However, when there is no rule then the only reason for following the honour system is simply because it is the right or moral thing to do.

In the long run an honour system is actually a deeper more pervasive type of enforcement because it does not just work on a quid pro quo basis like rules do, it actually affects the ethos of the clan so that people are not constantly reliant upon rules to tell them right from wrong. An honour system can also generate informal enforcements that are just as powerful as formal ones, for example abusing the honour system will be severely looked down upon by other clan members, and issues of not abiding by the honour system may come up when it comes to determining gaining ranks in the clan.
