What is it?
Teamspeak Meeting!

Date
Tuesday 13th October (Tuesday this week only)

Time
10:00 pm GMT

Meeting place
PLANET EARTH

What to bring?
Your sexy voices, and a mic is always a bonus so you can voice your opinions on whatever subject is being brought up.

If a war is scheduled at this time the meeting will be moved forward to 8 pm GMT.

This meeting is meant to really bring members together, it's a platform for you to bring up any concerns you have, where you know your fellow members are listening intently.

Lists of headings/topics will made before the meetings at the discretion of both leaders and the common member. Post a request about what you would like to hear spoken about.

Attendance:

The attendance was not as good as previous weeks, however this is because it was on a Tuesday this week instead of a Sunday as usual, oh well, no worries smile.gif

What we Discussed:

1. Mickey brought up the point of how introductions are less formal and a lot more impersonal now than they used to be.
People mention a lot about their previous clans in their introductions and virtually nothing about who they are and what they like to do.
- Elias and the council are already on top of this and will be implementing changes soon!

2. Calendar- the point was brought up because we do not use it enough and need to start using it a lot more.
Many members check the calendar every day/every few days to see if there are any events coming up and if an event is not posted on there then it gets missed.
Please post all events on the calendar!

3. IRC Event Script- Kingrandy0 brought this up. The idea is that when an event is organised it would be inputted into an IRC event script and then when people want to check what the next event is they would type !event into the IRC window and it would tell them and link them to the relevant topic.

Pros: 1. Makes people more likely to attend events as event info is now more easily accessible.

Cons:
1. It would take time for the already stretched staff to add events to the script.
2. It would mean less people went onto the forums.
3. Essentially defeats the point of an event organiser posting a topic- it will not get read.

What is your opinion on this matter?

4. Events wanted by the members- Chappell argued that there are far too many events that the majority of members do not want to attend because they are boring, apparently many members would rather attend castle wars.
Therefore a poll/topic will be set up to see which events WG members like to attend.
However this brings me to my next point:

5. Event Reptition- Even if you like an event a lot, event leaders/raid leaders will not host the same event every week, even if you like it the event host still has feelings and their opinion matters immensely.

Also people like change, change is good and it boosts the clans skills (RS skills + skills as in qualities).
The same event every week get boring because they generally do not change a lot (the exception is raids, since on raids you always have different targets and you go to different areas)

Thank you very much for coming everyone, we had a lot of discussion about the above issues and we will see what gets done in the near future.

If you have comments on any of the above issues please post them below.

1. Glad the intros are getting changed.

2. I stopped using calender for that reason.

3. I don't think it is really needed and we would see decline in forum posts. Also this extra work and how many would actually use it? Maybe 15 people out of 80.

5. Everyone is allowed to plan events. This should not be relied on for just event leaders to do. If each member planned just 2 events in a year, we would have alot of variety. That would average out to like 3 events a week that are members hosting them instead of staff. I really don't think that would be putting out to many people. There are always people willing to help host stuff. This would also help with the f2p members cause they would get some f2p events then. More fun communtiy stuff to unite the clan would be nice. If someone is nerveous hosting because of posting or recaps, I'm sure someone would help them. Just a few events a year would be alot of help to the clan. I am not sure what the raid leaders allow members to host. That be something different then skills or community events.

Thank you Garrett and Dallar.
“The day soldiers stop bringing you their problems
is the day you have stopped leading them.
They have either lost confidence that you can help them
or concluded that you do not care.
Either case is a failure of leadership.”
