I think your friend is either an Infinity Ward fanboy or a Treyarch hater, then  .The overall opinion of WaW so far that's it's at the least just as fun as CoD4 (since, if you've seen videos, it pretty much plays exactly like CoD4 plus and minus a few things). Treyarch screwed up with CoD3- it's true, but I think they've done a lot better this time with WaW. -------------------- | ||

| IRC Nickname: Palidore Group: Emeritus Posts: 152 Member No.: 75 Joined: January 1, 2008 Total Events Attended: 0 | Just and update for anyone who has not gotten in the Xbox beta, there is a PC beta coming at a very soon, though unannounced date. All you have to do is register at callofduty.com. Anyone who is registered on the site, according to the admins, will sooner-or-later receive a key for the PC beta. As for me, I did get around to playing the Xbox beta a bit, and as expected, the online portion of the game plays nearly identical to CoD4 online. It's very fun, fast paced, and needless to say, addicting. One thing specifically that I liked as opposed to CoD4 is that while the maps in CoD4 are pretty much all on open and leveled terrain, the maps in WaW do things a bit different. From the three maps in beta, Castle is extremely varied in terrain, with large up-and-down hill firefights and strategic positions to access in accordance to where the enemy is. Makin is a very intense and unpredictable. It takes place at night for one, but then you've got lots of huts and foliage that interfere with your line of sight and also leaves you wondering exactly where the enemy could be. Is he behind that hedge? In that hut? Plus you've got a watered area of the map, and the fact that you can go underneath some of the huts and boardwalks, it leaves room for lots of sneaky spots and strategic points. Roundhouse overall is a fairly standard and straightforward team deathmatch map in my opinion. Nothing too noteworthy aside of the tanks, which are pretty cool though might I add. Both sides have vantage points for snipes, donut shaped land strip around the map, and a circular structure off in the middle. Again, a pretty standard map. In the end though, anyone who enjoyed CoD4 should enjoy this just as much if not more. While obviously I can't talk about single player having not experienced it as of yet, the multiplayer aspect is just as exciting as ever. -------------------- | ||

Seriously, with the multilayer, if I wanted that sort of stuff, I'd play CoD4 because the CoD4 weapons are better and the game types are the same.
