I don't want to put it in public just in case this is in a delicate balance.

-----------------------------------------/start long story------------------------------------------
Ok, so a couple weeks ago I was fiddling around with some quests and I came across the Hand in The Sand quest.

After the quest, Bert gave me 84 buckets of sand and I was like *hmmm* I wonder how much it would be for 84 soda ash....

So I went to GE and it was like 21k for 84 soda ash. 84 Molten glass is only 26k so I almost gave up on the idea of making money with glass, but then I looked around a little bit and noticed the SuperGlass Make spell on the Lunar Spellbook.

After reading what the spell did, and the main thing that stood out was how fast it would be. 13 molten glass in 1 cast? =O

So I went to w18 BH and got teleported to lunar isle, changed to lunars and teled back to GE, bought 84 soda ash and started casting, I noticed that the spell was giving me more than 13 molten glass per cast, and was like =O.

I read more up on the spell and noticed 2 new things, the spell can make anywhere from 13-26 molten glass for 13 materials (1 material = 1 bucket of sand and 1 soda ash), and the spell doesn't require the soda ash to be cooked, and since seaweed is only 200 gp whereas soda ash is 250, i was like =O that's a lot of savings!

I finished casting and ended up with around 110 molten glass from my 84 materials and went back to buy more materials from ge.

I almost gave up again when I noticed i could only buy 110 sand and 110 seaweed (and 40 astral runes).

Then i remembered that I started with 84 materials, not 110. So that meant that next time I did it, i would end up with more than 110 molten glass.

I continued casting, banking, selling, and buying. Eventually I had turned 74k gp into 940k gp. It was then I realized "oh my god, I can make a lot of money with this!"
------------------------------------/end long story-------------------------------------------------

So now that i've talked your ear off, I'll explain the benefits of doing this.

The Superglass Make spell on Lunar Magicks makes anywhere from 13-26 molten glass for one cast. What this means is,

13 buckets of sand (1391 gp at 107 each) + 13 seaweed (2717gp at 209 each), 2 astral runes (348gp at 174 each) and 6 fire runes (54 gp at 9 each) =

13 molten glass (4043 gp at 311 each) - 26 molten glass (8086 gp at 311 each), 78 mage xp, and 130 crafting xp.

So that means, that for every cast, you are spending 4510gp to make anywhere from 4043 to 8086 gp. That makes the average profit from 1 cast being 1554.5gp

Now you may be thinking, what if I never make more than 15 molten glass?

Well, i've done this for over 15k molten glass and I have never lost 1 gp.

Also, banking the molten glass, taking out 13 seaweed and 13 buckets of sand then casting the spell again takes 10 seconds (without interruption of course, IRC is a big slowerdowner). So you could feasibly make up to 559k gp per hour with this method, as well as 46.8k crafting xp and 28,080 mage xp.

The best way I have found so I don't lose my mind is to do 600 materials (which gets me around 800 molten glass), which uses 100 astral runes, (actually 92 but who doesnt like extra astrals?), and makes about 50k profit.

****Note: If you have done Hand in The Sand quest, you can get 84 free buckets of sand every day, and if you go to the Catherby general store, talk to the guy and he will give you 80 seaweed every day for 2 gp each (160gp).****

Hope this helps you guys out, try not to tell everybody.

Happy Crafting, smile.gif
~Ty

Vary interesting
Will try

EDIT: If you start spamming bank like 3 seconds in, you'll bank b4 finishing the spell
EDIT 2: Yep it works, did it with 600 ea. Made about 100k, give or take a couple

I just finished doing this for the first time, and I can vouch for Havoc. It worked amazingly.

I picked up my 84 buckets of sand, and had about 360 in the bank already. I totaled 450 before buying stuff. Bought the seaweed from Catherby and the rest from the GE. Bought enough supplies to get 600 materials, and then bought the Astrals. In total I'd say 150k spent, and then I'm able to sell the glass for 250k. Now, that's taking into account I had quite a bit before making any initial purchases.

Either way, the method works like a charm. I never once made just 13 Molten Glass, always more. I averaged at around 17-18 per 13 materials.

Not sure about materials. But I'm using this for now.

Seaweed went WAY up, from like 186 Mid, to something like 195 Mid. Sand went down from 104 Mid to 103 Mid, and then I'm not sure about Astrals, but I'm sure they've gone up because of PvP.

I buy all my supplies at Mid for faster sales, and then sell the Molten Glass for Mid as well because I'm getting more Glass per supplies so I make money anyway.

I usually buy 500 Astrals at a time, then just do the spell until I'm out, buying supplies in sets of 600.

It's not the fastest source of income out there, but the fact you are making money, while training Magic AND Crafting at the same time is pretty beast.

I don't have lunar but I have been buying seaweed at 2 gp and storing it for a while. I have alot of sand from doing the same thing. I buy 16 battle staves in Varock as often as I can get there. I was planning on making the orbs, charging them, and then alching them for some good craft and mage exp.

I'm going to have to think about lunar before I start this. I'll keep saving supplies for now. I have over 4 mil invested in the battle staves so far.

Wear the varrock armour (Level Three)- if you have it, if not try and do the achievement diary at least lvl two, level 3 you need quite high skills, smithing and farming etc.
But yeah with level three varrock armour (you must wear the plate) you get 32 battlestaves a day for 7k gp each.

I do it quite often (making water battlestaves) , especially when I get lots of water orbs from slaying waterfiends.
Make them, alch them.

For the past 5 days i have tried this method on and off
And my final conclusion is succes.

Although i have tried to tweak the limits a bit and i have found out that you can do this in other ways for max. profit

I tried this:

Making 100 unpowered orbs from my molten glass and powered them to 50 air and 50 earth orbs.
I make 6k more on the airs than the earth

Then i calculated it, and instead of selling my molten glass for 361 each, i sold em for 100k total, ~ 70k profit

It also cost me some cosmic runes, 300 cosmics * 151 gp = 45900

add up the numbers:

100 orbs = +100k
300 cosmic = - 45.9k

Total 54.1k profit

Then i was like.. hmm.. thats not THAT good
So i went to the G.E and bought 3000 cosmics and 1000 unpowered orbs

Why? because orbs are 192 gp each, instead of 361 for one molten glass.

So;

3000 cosmic: -459k
1000 unpowered orbs: -192k
1000 air orbs: +1053k

Total: 402k profit.
and around 80k magic xp

Im not sure if it is worth it actually, my head hurts after all this calculating

The only downside to powering the orbs is the time it takes to get to the obelisks, and the fact that using familiars isnt really worth it because that would take too long switching out orbs for unpowered ones.

See, if you dont power the orbs, you can literally stand in 1 place forever and continue making profit, but the only downside is you're never going to do anything else while you're in the process of making money.

But yes, making the orbs into powered orbs and selling or putting the powered orbs on battlestaves and alching is massive profit. Just takes time, and the whole idea of this guide is the time factor.

If anyone wants to time how long it takes to make 1 orb and compare it with the time it takes to make the same amount of xp in flax, go ahead. I just don't know what will come of it tongue.gif
