I'm getting closer to the end of Part 1.
Very close in fact.
7min 30sec completed so far.
About 3 minutes left.

PLEASE tell me what you think.
Constructive criticism is most welcome.

Again I remind you, it tells the story of a boy going into the forest.
There are demons in the woods and they try to keep him.
The triumphant bit in the last few seconds is the arrival of the woodsman.
He saves the boy.

You'll know when the demons arrive because it gets very very ugly in the music.

PLEASE, I ask again. Give feedback.
Even if you are not a musical person... this piece was written for general audiences.
I want anyone to be able to like it, not a select group.

Detailed Breakdown:

Start: A small medieval village at night
1:42: The boy runs away from home, out of the town, into the open fields
2:48: The boy finds a forest
3:08: The boy runs into the forest looking for adventure
4:00: A tree spirit appears and starts talking. It tells the boy it is a friend, and asks the boy to follow it deeper into the forest.
5:03: The boy walks on into the forest
5:21: The boy realises he is lost
5:32: The demons appear and start taunting the boy.
5:47: The boy runs and they chase him further into the dark forest.
7:01: The boy manages to lose them, and catches his breath
7:18: The demons reappear and start pulling at the boy about to drag him into the underworld
7:29: The woodsman appears with a flaming torch and magic sword

That's all I'm up to so far

1:42: The boy runs away from home, out of the town, into the open fields
This part certainly sounds like he's free, nothing tieing him down, fits with your explanation perfectly.

2:48: The boy finds a forest
I didn't see much of a change here until I relistened too it. I think listeners would probally miss the slight change.

3:08: The boy runs into the forest looking for adventure
This bit sounds exciting, as it should.

4:00: A tree spirit appears and starts talking. It tells the boy it is a friend, and asks the boy to follow it deeper into the forest.
I think this is one of my favourite parts, so far (typing in real time).

5:03: The boy walks on into the forest
Gives me the feeling that he's an important person, not just a boy.

5:21: The boy realises he is lost
Great way of getting it accross.

5:32: The demons appear and start taunting the boy.
Not much to say, but it got the feeling across, knowing what the point was.

5:47: The boy runs and they chase him further into the dark forest.
Start of this part was very dramatic and I liked it. Was pretty much perfect throughout.

7:01: The boy manages to lose them, and catches his breath

7:18: The demons reappear and start pulling at the boy about to drag him into the underworld
Good and noticable change from the previous part.

7:29: The woodsman appears with a flaming torch and magic sword
Probally my favourite part in the piece so far. It just works so great.

Its not that decent, basically, its great so far.

personally I loved it, and would probably buy it if you finished it. I think you have the objective of getting people who would never ever listen to classical....get them to listen and like it.

+1 to you. Gj so far cant wait till its done.

It sounds good.
You really haven't lost your touch.
Great work.
I especially like the parts with the little bells.
