Pretty straightforward class with a project in place of a final exam, except I just found out that project was due five hours ago instead of two weeks from now, and I have another semi-insane project for statistics due tomorrow. I've been looking forward to this project all semester and now I might have blown it without even doing anything, which sucks astronomically. What I need right now is a criminal (or several, secret societies are cool). I've got a bus full of people in Meddlebrook who got hit with some sort of toxin - they're all dead (time-release mechanism connected to the heat vents, possible trace on the origin of the toxin). I've also got an apparently unrelated crime in Fairplay, about 15 miles away. A somewhat eccentric but very highly intelligent middle-aged judge was beaten to death in his home office and whoever did it effectively bypassed a somewhat uniquely endowed security system (Mythbusters FTW). I'm not sure how these crimes are related, yet. An act of random terrorism? A targeted contract killing? Nobody knows the judge's past, is he in the witness protection program? Who on the bus could have been a target? Were both acts leverage towards a larger goal? And why was the judge blackmailing his married neighbor after finding out about his homosexual affair? The contents of the safe in his office looks riffled, is anything missing? To complete the assignment, I need to catch the criminal or parties responsible, so... who would do such a dastardly thing? Also if you can think up any interesting names that I could use (or mix-and-match, celebrities are fair game) for my characters / officers / investigators / victims / criminals / suspects / witnesses / eccentrics / numbskulls / supervillains, that'd be cool too. Possible motives are also up for grabs, I can make this as crazily eccentric as I can manage. // edit // I'm thinking that the neighbor has a background in advanced chemistry - maybe a professor or teacher or research scientist - the murder of the judge was a retaliatory action. In return for keeping his mouth shut the judge wanted his neighbor to make him a specific toxin, and when the neighbor found out what it was used for he killed the judge. But who on the bus would the judge want dead? Maybe the chemist was running a methamphetamine/drug lab, which would give him the resources to make the toxin and would also give the judge blackmailing leverage. --------------------  |

Right, im feeling the butler did it with the crow bar, in the study.. Naa im kidding Right, maybe, we could have a dodgy cop, who's brother is a chemistry lecturer. Dodgy cop, would have it in for the judge, for letting a criminal go. Maybe an even more dodgier Judge? Basically, Bus is full of secret russian mafia, that emply the judge, to keep them out of jail. So the police have nothing on them. Cop gets annoyed. Gets his brother to concoct this lethal toxin, takes entire bus out. Cop enters house, by passcode, as the guy is a judge, would probably have his security system connected to the police. Obivusly as a police man, he knows who he is, and what his job is. --------------------    |

His chemicals had a completely different outcome than expected. They become intelligent, kill the scientist and perfect this new toxin then travel and kill the bus people of people as an operational test. They kill the judge since he is related to the scientist (think good twin vs evil twin or mysterious disappearance). This secret society of penguins plan to take over the world by first controlling the minds of the populace through games such as Runescape and World of Warcraft.
