Eventually, my laptop is going to die. It's already not in good shape.

Would a netbook replace what I use my laptop for? I really don't do that much any more.

  • Downloading/Watching anime

I try to look at laptops every few weeks, just to get an idea of what I might like.

For that list of things, you can get almost any laptop for $500, especially around this time of the year. With more than enough for what you're doing.

A netbook MIGHT do those thing, but I highly doubt it. Netbooks are very low power machines that are basically the bare minimum specifications to keep a PC running and do minimal things such as word processing.

You probably would be able to any one of those things alone but I wouldn't rely on a netbook to multitask.

There are many decent laptops that will handle those things simultaneously that are in the $500-700 range.

I HIGHLY recommend Dell. They've got great computers and great prices to go with them. They've got sales going on all the time (I constantly get e-mails from them so I know this). Acer is also a pretty cheap brand (in terms of price, not quality).

stay away from netbooks. Utterly useless things. Not really capable of much other than surfing the web (no games).
