honestly i go emaratius for the fact that irl is so fuckin hectic right now.

and what now im not even allowed to come into the fuckin irc without coming to an event once a week? this is bullshit i work 8 - 12 hours a day 5-6 days a week so i dont even get the privellage of being able to come into the irc to talk to friends when i got some spare time.

honestly the whole idea of emeratius are for people who are currently incactive who want to remain in wg and now your taking that away from them.

Emeratius is now a lower rank then trial member atleast they can acces irc and probably more forums then emeratius now aswell.

This is my good bye sorry for the flaming but this is bullshit

I'm going to rage too if I can't get in tbh.

I have similar problems to you Sieg, but if you leave you'll just kill the chance of getting into IRC to talk.

Can you please think about it and repost when you aren't fuming?

Pls sad.gif

I think it's mandatory to SIGN UP, not go. Let me double check :V

EDIT: yeah, it's mand sign up, not go. Although there is A "Too many no's" Situation. I'm sure if you explain your position and prove your commitment, council will understand.

It's not our fault you can't stay in WG.
We have standards and you are EXPECTING to bypass them.
That's plain wrong.
The Emeritus rank *can* be used as a placeholder for your return, but if you're so hectic IRL then why are you so bloody concerned about IRC and forum access if you can't efen attend one event per week?

I've said this a million times. You can't have the cake and eat it. You have a busy IRL so you can't expect to stay in WG and that's a shame but it's not our fault.

What Elias said is true, it's unfortunate but staying as emertius rather than leaving you can easily come back to WG when you're active. Same with if you want honoured emertius, if you're demoted from it, in the future if you prove more activity you can always get your rank back.

I don't see it as that bad.

I think a lil understanding to the shock of reading that for his first time. I can see why they are getting upset.

It is not like WG wants rid of their long time members. It's just that current members were getting less privleges then the retired and it needed to be adjusted to be more fair to everyone.

If it stayed the way it was then why not just take retirement you basically lost nothing before. You still could vote and all that. Our voting system was leaning to the retired more than current membership.

Their plan may be not perfect but some changes did need done. Try to be patient and hang in there while they get it all worked out. This may just be the first of more changes to come. Our council works hard on keeping things fair. No one is perfect and they may need to change a few things yet.

God, this has gone on enough already.

Surely no one is narrow-minded enough to not see it from both sides. There's been no rash action, this system was clearly decided after lordy/the council put effort into thinking about how to make it work best, like any leader would do. Its also open to suggestions, its in practice, its new. Its not nazism.

Emeritus do, as lordy points out, often get as much as the members, without putting in as much to the clan (in whatever ways that includes). Sure, there's reasons why people are inactive. You could spend all day giving out special cases, it needs to be standardised.

Instead of forcing activity requirements, emeritus even get the choice of staying as they are by doing nothing, or attend an event maybe once every 2 months. People are notified by signups by email. It should take no time at all to check email. If someone is too busy to contribute in any way, emeritus is the happy medium, and whenever they've returned from life's duties, they can catch up to people in the lobby (when everyone in #wg is in the lobby anyway).

Emeritus is not inferior to trial member, its different. #wg is more about clan matters, events, and all that sort of thing than general chat. Emeritus holds more honour to it, which doesn't need to be rewarded by the things which relate mostly to the clan and ascension through it.

I don't see the problem, when both sides have to come to a compromise. I'm only butting in because I'm already annoyed about something completely different, I just had to vent this.

I disagree with that statement purely for the fact of emeritus is only granted to i think its higher guardian or above there for if you have been granted emeritus it means you have already put a fair bit into the clan and by goin inactive you shouldnt be stripped of any rights no matter what the reason is.

Why should you keep all the same rights that everyone else to work to keep? Would WG collapse without you holding it on your shoulders like Atlas if you did not receive the same privileges of those who are active? Will we all pull our hair from our heads and beat our chests in grief that our effort is rewarded while your work is honored with the emeritus rank? If you think it should be all about the past, get out the bell bottom jeans, pump that rock n roll, and smoke some weed.

Sorry, in my state of thinking I didn't put that right.

Emeritus will likely have put more into the clan over the whole timescale of things, but often the clan lives for the times [now]. If it keeps its warring side, it needs to know where everyone is at. The rights that the current members get often relate in some form or another mostly to the modern clan goings-on, such as warring. If emeritus had it just as good as normal members, people could sit in emeritus and take advantage of it all - having all the same priveldiges, without having the activity requirements. While no one currently emeritus may do this, its sure to be taken advantage of to some extent which is unfair for everyone else. When seen from the active clan's side, people need to be encouraged to stay members and stay commited, while emeritus is for those with less time on their hands to devote, and would otherwise by clanless, but still get a lot from the clan while not really doing anything activity-wise (which is what they have earned for the good work they have done in the past).

Probably the best way I can put it.
