Ok guys ive sent mass pms ive posted suggestoins ive posted in lv 3 and honestly nothing is working. When i say that i mean im not getting any feedback not the training.

I want you all to post what would persuade you to train. Im asking the members of wg not the council or the territary leaders. Please tell me what would make training easier or make training more fun to do.

I am open to any ideas and i will harvest it and grow it into a new system or event or anything.

Please post serious posts.

[Stolen from Mugger84..kinda]
We could do things such as:
  • Slayer race, duration can be: 2 hours, 1 day, 1 week
  • 2 SOTW: Combat SOTW and Skills SOTW
  • Make training a factor, not a deciding one when picking MOTM's
  • Trainer of the week rank: Every week we pick 1-3 people and give them the rank of Trainer of the Week, with their original rank as their set forum mask of course. This could encourage people to train moarrr.

Few ideas. tongue.gif

I had the idea a while back to have another skill war with another clan like we did with TDM but make it only combat skills.

QUOTE (Your Raise Requirements Thread)
Also if you want my input of what you think we should do instead?

Try to encourage someone to increase their combat, instead of restricting them or not allowing them. It is the idea of "forcing" them to raise their combat just so that they can make the clan, seem well... forceful in my honest opinion. Some people may train to join WG, but some people will just pass and go on to the next 100+ clan that they are looking at.

You may say "Oh TBE has the requirements of 105+ too", well TBE has a junior clan. TDM has the requirements of 95+ if they recall me correctly. And them being our allies, their websites are on our forums! Right next to the introduction/application section!

So yes back to my original point.. PS worked for the first two months I would say, and it was kinda ignored for the 3rd and 4th month after it was interrupted by the skill olympics. Did people get experience? Yeah! Did people level? Yeah. Creative ideas like those encourage the members of WG to train and by bringing in the lower levels, putting them in a higher level environment should encourage them to train too.

Directly I do not know of a way to do something that would fit my criteria of encouraging someone to train for the clan, but saying "Well we are raising the requirements to 105+ F2P soon, so you need to get 105+ F2P as soon as possible or else we are going to blame you" or something along those lines in a nicer and seemingly sincere way, is not too much of encouraging.

Training for the war was asked upon us by Elias, not enforced, nor was it mandatory, but people still tried. It was a big war for us (RAW against RT) and people got combat levels, including me. Still there is a better way to improve our combat in the long run, instead of blatantly stating for someone to train their combat level. Even if you have to somewhat hide your true meaning, which would apparently be to train combat to raise our "public image" of a higher "combat average", make it enjoyable for everyone.

Please ignore things that relate with the raising of requirements. I just quoted what I said because I believe I spoke what I personally believe about training combat at the time.

I already get told to train. No one fucking notices when I do. GF there.

<[OP]RuneScript> *** [ TRACKER ]: [All] exp gains for <hidden> in last 1wk: Overall(+8) +1,193,264 | Att(80) +27,018 | Def(93) +247,567 | Str(80) +28,857 | HP(89) +120,909 | Range(77) +9,579 | Pray(74->75) +128,009 | Magic(90) +89,673

Nearly half my overall xp for the last week was cmb related. Not counting summoning... No, I haven't gained levels, other than the prayer. Kinda hard to get a defence level when you're already 93 if you don't constantly do combat. And I refuse to go bandits.

This past week, the 2 stats that got the most xp were Construction (Con(66->72) +375,810) and Defence (Def(93) +247,567). Prayer and HP are the next closest.

I get really really tired of training combat. I get bored out of my mind. I like being around people, and talking. Why do you think I like herblore so much? I can sit, at a bank, talk, make jokes, socialize. I enjoy it.

OPH = Operation Purple Haze

- reduced raids ( so more people attend a certain 1 )
- gaint training competition
- great rewards
- raid training/tanking
- mandatory raids

ending

- improved opts
- improved leveels
- drop parties
- rewards were gud
- better at pking

Very good but had a downslide. Leadership lead with an iron fist.

TBH havoc u cant do anything....
Tbh if people wanna know why they have to train. Then we should stick them into a capped fite and let them get tired of getting cut / get them money for prayer

I've just stolen quite a lot of ideas from this topic and shoved them into level three for the event leaders neko2.gif Thanks guys, keep up the various suggestions on how to encourage people to raise combat.

Honestly, I hate training. Always have, always will. I joined WG at level 93(when the reqs had just moved up to 100+), and in 3 years I've only made it to level 106. There isn't much any of you could do to convince me to train more. I'm busy IRL, and I don't want to waste my day watching my character sit at bandits.

For me it is all personal. No event or planned contest would really work well. I'm about as competitive as a rock. I would rather encourage the others then try to beat them.

So like setting my own goals and reaching them over time is mostly the only way for me to raise combat. If I say, I am going to get 103 f2p by the end of the week and I try for that and I have my personal cheerleader listening to me whine, I do good. I do have a personal WG cheerleader now, but I'm keeping who a secret so you don't go trying to push me. lol

Being pushy is the worst possible way to get me to train. I shut down and go the other direction cause I get mad and discouraged. Leaving me train and congratz when I do is probably the best.

Personality is something you just can't change, so you have to work around them. I've said this before Combat/Killing is not my thing. It's not like you can change your blood type. wub.gif

You know Indi...for a leader here, you sure spam alot and hardly EVER give anything constructive to your posts. If that's how you want to be, fine but don't subject the rest of us to your stupidity and nonsense. Thank you.

With that said, and to stay on topic, all I can say is you can't force people to train. It never has and never will work. Honestly, I don't think there's anything the clan can do except for punishing those who won't or don't train.

For me, training is boring as hell. Combat, herblore, agility...it's all boring. I can perhaps stand to do it for about a half hour until I'm falling asleep at the computer. It's just not fun for me anymore.
