Imagine that we were to all meet in real life and hangout. Sure we probably don't know each other as well as we think, but I do believe we're all friends, regardless of some incy-wincy fights in the past. Before you post on these forums, think about what you're going to say. Oh hey little Johnny here doesn't like wars let's call him an asshole! No. You would not do that in real life, so don't do it on these forums.

I guess you could call it "e-drama," or whatever you guys say, but look at it this way. "E-drama" doesn't exists unless you start it. I'll I'm asking is that you think before every post, before every comment on IRC, and before everything said on Teamspeak. People have feelings, and they won't always know when you're joking.

So, yeah, get this "e-drama" shit out of your heads and SMILE! biggrin.gif

What a pointless post.

The thing is, we are on the internet + e-drama is a part of that.
It doesn't matter if you would or would not do it in real life.
This is not real life.
Its the internet, and to make the comparison between actions here + irl is quite pointless, because the two are like comparing apples + oranges.

I dunno why you bothered posting neko2.gif

Wow Maths...I think you stepped the line lol >.>
-------

Neverthless, I kind of agree with Maths.
This is the internet, people come here to get away from real life, we don't always have to take things so seriously, if it was always so serious, there would be no fun, the IRC Chat would probably be dead.
Sometimes making a few spam posts & playful remarks can help the clan in a good way.
Just like how Elias posted a while back in the "Post more" topic he made.

Randy is also right in saying you have to think carefully before you post. Which I definitely agree on.

Think about who your post is directed to, think about whether that person(s) will take offence. If you're unsure, put yourself in his/her shoes and think about it.
If you're still unsure, don't bother posting.
The consequences may outweigh the benefits in which you will regret later on.

Keep the clan fun & entertaining, but clean at the same time.
We're able to do that, riiight? king.gif

How is that e-drama?
I'm just stating what I think.

Perhaps you spend too much time dealing with e-drama you're quick to forget what it really is.
I'm sorry if my argument might've swayed you to thinking the idea i'm having personal attacks at you.
However, the point of doing so, was to get you to read my reply.
And lol @ your retaliation.

I treat all my online friends just as I would IRL. If i think someone sucks, I don't be a two-faced twat and gossip about them, I tell them why they suck and where appropriate, how to better themselves.

The guys that met me in London would probably clarify that. Of course in the first few hours of meeting new people you keep your gob shut as not to give a bad first impression, but after that the tongues start to wag tongue.gif

People like Groe, who are annoying as fuck, actually aren't that bad. I was pleasantly surprised at how enjoyable he was to be around. Which is why after meeting him, I tend to have a little more respect for him.

So in short, I try to tolerate people as much as humanly possible online. But if they do something out of order or disrespect me, I'm not going to sit back and take their crap. Which I guess can be a source of E-Drama, but at least it gets the matter solved and out of the way rather than to let it fester away and develop into something bigger.

People are more than welcome to criticize me. However most can't take it when I fire back at them. Which isn't my fault. If someone can't stick up for themselves, who can they stick up for?

Hahaha, oh, yes, I have no idea what e-drama is.. I only have to break up about ten silly fights a day! Ha, I love this. Simply telling the members of WG to not cause drama causes it, typical. You see, I'm not sure that you read my post correctly, because your response is basically "No, don't think about what you say, say it because drama will always ensue." It's ridiculous that you are trying to say I should have never posted, yeah, I should just let members rip each other apart! Go ahead guys! Your arguement makes absolutely no sense. I also love how you said "you play right into my hands sometimes" which is a clear hint about intentially posting a flamebait, yet ANOTHER thing I'm asking everyone to avoid. Well done sir!

Your weakness and downfall as council is that you always retaliate.
But hey, I love to as well.
I lol'd at your pm btw.
Because you can't bother to think up a pm longer than 2 sentences, clearly showing your lack of seriousness for my coming to you asking for a "truce".
Wow, as a council I thought you cared more about members.
Obviously not.
How much longer till you leave? unsure.gif

Just let people have their petty arguments.
Don't be such a party pooper.
Its not e-drama unless you make it e-drama.
It can always be classified as "friendly conflict".

I have to say I actually agree with Maths to a certain degree.

Though E-Drama can cause proablems, have you any idea how bad it would get if everyone sat around keeping their feelings hidden and just bitched about people behind their back? No matter how you do it the person involved is going to find out at some stage, and bitching behind their backs is only going to make the "E-Drama" worse.

Personally, I don't really think you can complain about

Because when you applied for council (or in fact any staff position) this is one of the many tasks you agreed to do, and there are several members in WG who do the same tasks as well without receieving much thanks or recognition for doing it.

I guess the irony is:

I kind of agree with Maths in the sense that E-drama can't really be avoided. You can give someone some criticism concerning themselves and mean it in the kindest way possible, but they could still overreact and take it as a flame, degradation or something of that sort.

I get the point of treating each other the same way we would if we actually knew each other, but it's harder than you might think. And obviously, for some it might be easier than others.

Also, E-drama is only what you want e-drama to be. In fact, anything over the internet could be classified as e-drama. I mean, if you wanted to take things to the extreme. We talk about "serious" clan issues and treat them as such, but then again it's just some situation over the internet, right? Some drama between a group of people over a little institution that doesn't really exist outside the game, yet we toil so much for it. Not meant to degrade WG in any way, but it's just another perspective. Technically any WG problem could be e-drama because it's over the internet.

Exactly my point.
In the irc you class a petty little argument "e-drama".
Will we soon be condemned in the irc as an "e-drama starter" for a simple comment such as "I don't like <member>"?

Now it seems you bring across a controllive nature when faced with conflict amongst members.
Controllive fronts usually come from teachers/parents.
Remember this is a game we're playing right?
We play to escape the issues of real life and I'm sure when we're getting told by council for every smart comment we have at people, it really feels like we're back at school.

Let us have conflict.
Only break up the major fights.
Where will the classification of e-drama stop?
