Axeman's Folly - Brew them NOW

By George on 13/04/2009
There are no pies that can be made to boost woodcutting, but there is an ale called the Axeman's Folly, that I want EVERY person on the team to use.

What you need to make them:

Coins - To
buy yeast at the Brewery and to pay for a mine cart ticket
4 Buckets of Water
4 Barley Malt (Buy "barley" at the GE (auto-sell) and then cook it on a range)
2 Oak Roots (Buy from GE at max, may have to wait a little bit)
2 bags of "The Stuff" - obtained from Trouble Brewing- better chances of mature ale. - OPTIONAL - More Info
2 Pots - to be filled with yeast by the man at the Brewery
Ectophial - For easy access to Port Phasmatys Brewery
Falador Teleport - For easy access to the mine carts NW of Falador, to get to Keldagrim
16 Beer Glasses (not pictured) - go to the entrance to the Sorceress' Garden- Northeast of the Shantay Pass- go to the shelves and you can take as many glasses as you like!

If you cannot get any of the above items yourselves- speak to me and I will be willing to help you out

How to make them:

1. Head to one of the Breweries: I highly suggest going to Keldagrim first, as explained in step two.
Keldagrim: - Tele to Falador, take the mine cart to Keldagrim and head north.

Port Phasmatys: - Teleport with the ectophial, go down the trapdoor, behind the bar.

2. Buy two lots of yeast by talking to the NPC at the Keldagrim Brewery. Ask him this:

- You *can* buy yeast at the Port Phasmatys brewery, but it costs ECTO-TOKENS!

3. Add 2 buckets of water to the fermenting vat.

4. Add 2 lots of barley malt to the fermenting vat.

5. *optional step* - add 1 load of "The Stuff" to the fermenting vat.

6. Add 1 oak root.

7. Wait for the brew to ferment. It can take 12 hours, it can take 24.

The vat will look like this when you are done adding ingredients:

8. Once it's done brewing (examine will say "This vat is filled with Axeman's Folly Ale."), turn the valve between the vat and the attached barrel to move brewed ale to the barrel (make sure that the barrel is empty first!)

9. Use 8 beer glasses on the barrel to get 8 Axeman Folly's, some of them may be mature. Read below.

So you can make 16 of these every 1-2 days, SO START NOW, we have until the 19th of April (when we start skilling).

How do these Ales help?
A normal Axeman Folly will raise your Woodcutting Skill by 1.
A MATURE Axeman Folly (you may get some of these whilst brewing your ale), will raise your Woodcutting Skill by 2.

It may not seem like a lot, but believe me it DOES help!

Please help to make these, even if you are not going to be in the team, PLEASE PLEASE help. The whole process takes about 10 mins of your time.
Don't try to buy from GE, you won't get any.

Any questions? Post them here!

I have some of the stuff for the brew but oak roots may be a problem. Do you have any idea how many of the brews are needed for a ONE hour session?

By txtawkin on 14/04/2009
I have 200 oak roots in my bank, I will start making these if anyone wants
to help, pm me and I will give them some rooties. rolleyes.gif

Oh wait....I don't have any of "the stuff" and have never done Trouble
Brewing. Does anyone want to donate that if its tradable??

By txtawkin on 14/04/2009
I started 2 batches, but I do not have any "stuff" to add to them.
I also checked at GE, they had both the regular and the mature
ale for sale atm.
