Guide To Herblore!
By Zeth007 on 31/12/2007
Hi!
Since I'm not using this myself anymore I'd like to post a guide about how to make 20-50k herblore exp per hour and still make monies.
You don't need to have tons of monies to do this but it's much easier if you do.
10mil+ would be the best but 100k is enough.
Step 1!
Go to Grand Exchange.
There you can buy so called "Grimy" herbs.
These herbs are the herbs that were called "Unidentified" herbs, before they got updated.
Now, after the update, you can still see what herb it is you have, even thought it's grimy. But before the update, all the herbs were Unidentified and could be Ranarrs or Guams and still look the same. Now they are called "Grimy Ranarr" and "Grimy Guam" and so on.
And now when you're in Grand Exchange, search to buy a grimy herb which you are able to clean. So if I was to be level 25 herblore, I'd search for "Grimy ranarr" or something less expensive that I'm able to clean.
Step 2!
Do NOT buy these grimy herbs.
Just check the price of the GRIMY herbs each.
Now search for the same herb but now do "Clean Ranarr" (If it was ranarr you searched for but as grimy)
Step 3!
Do NOT buy these CLEAN herbs.
Just check the price of them.
Step 4!
What was the price of the grimy herbs and the clean herbs?
If the price of grimy ranarrs was 3k ea (not the real price) and the price of clean ranarrs was 4k ea, that's good.
Go to the runescape forums and search for some random thread with the name "selling clean ranarrs". Check how much this person is selling the ranarrs for each. Nice - He/she is selling for 4k each aswell! And he/she already sold them! That means that the grand exchange prices are good and correct! - buy GRIMY ranarrs for all your money in grand exchange NOW! - NOT CLEAN ranarrs.
Is there no one selling grimy ranarrs in grand exchange? Just wait or change the buy price to max. Or else go find another herb that you're able to clean and do the same thing.
Step 5!
Clean all of the grimy ranarrs.
This may seem like a bad way of getting exp and levels but it isn't.
I bought grimy cadantines and cleaned them, and in 1 hour I was able to clean 4.5k of them. Cleaning grimy cadantines gives 12.5 exp per herb. 4500x12.5 = 56250 exp per hour. ~ 55k
List of how exp per cleaned herb:
Guam - 2.5 exp
Marrentill - 3.75 exp
Tarromin - 5 exp
Harralander - 6 exp
Ranarr - 8 exp
Toadflax - 8 exp
Irit - 9 exp
Avantoe - 10 exp
Kwuarm - 11.25 exp
Snapdragon - 11.75 exp
Cadantine - 12.5 exp
Lantadyme - 13 exp
Dwarf weed - 13.75 exp
Torstol - 15 exp
Example (for dumb people) :
If you clean 1 grimy lantadyme - you get 13 exp!!!
This is a very good way of getting herblore levels unless you're super rich and spend all your monies on making potions. Or if you farm your own herbs - gtfo.
Herblore is one of the most expensive skills and 99 herblore can cost up to 300mil.
If you spend 300mil on herblore thought, you'd be able to get it in 1 day of no-lifing.
NOTE!!! - It is not my fault if you buy grimy herbs and clean them really slow so that the prices go down on the clean ones while you still have them. THIS IS POSSIBLE THOUGH! So be warned - The prices may drop!
Selling The Cleaned Herbs!
The easiest way of selling the herbs (unless you have less than 1k of them) is to sell them on the forums. It may take some time so while you w8 you can always have them in Grand Exchange and see if they get sold there.
Thanx!

Ah I see dude.
Very good guide, thanks for writing it, I always wondered how you racked up that exp and cash quickly.
Pictures may have been nice.
With your permission I may make it a bit more "user-friendly" by adding a few pictures etc and a bit of colour

Thanks very much, good guide

very good guide! Once you add some pictures it'll be even better.

Nice guide, but i bet that doesnt work anymore. grimy are worth more than clean. and its hard to sell herbs. nobody wants to buy them. Same with potions if you making them.
By Wonderboy478 on 31/01/2008
herbs i find are easy to sell, its pots which are hard nowdays
By Winddancir on 31/01/2008
Grimy are always more expensive than clean, because of the extra exp. At 66 herblore though, buy cadantines & white berries. Minimal expense for decent exp.

How do you add a picture to that guide :s
Pic at GE.
Pic of Grimy/Clean
Pic of Forum ?
If what people say is true i wont work anymore but i'll definitely check next time in at GE
