99 Opinions
By Z3rosk8r on 17/02/2009
I have a question for you all, I know there will be different points of view on this topic and I am interested in all of your opinions.
I do not have any 99's. Neither do a couple of people.
Do you feel that if someone doesn't have a 99, that they are not as good as other people? I have considered getting a 99, but some of the 99's take months at a time. The easy ones, such as fletching, cooking, and firemaking, nobody even compliments you for having them.
I am curious, do you all think of people as a much higher caliber when they have a 99?
Just please explain your views on this topic, and I, and others, would be very interested to hear it.

I'm lvl 121 and all I have is a cooking cape but I just ignore the people that say stuff because deep down I know they're jealous.
By Z3rosk8r on 17/02/2009
Sith, I myself have 92 cooking, I have considered getting 99, but i am not sure if it's worth the money spent because of the different prices between raw and cooked now.
Not to mention how the community views the cooking cape now a days, unfortunately, it's not as 1337 as it used to be

I tend to look at their overall, and if they have everything ranked. Like... your farming and hunter aren't ranked, so I'll probably bug you about that until you get them ranked.

I've seen plenty of idiots who have high cmb, but low overall.

Naw, It doesnt matter to me.
Considering people were laughing at me for being lvl 130 with an Untrimmed cape..
By Roxy_6000 on 17/02/2009
Nobody really cares about your 99's unless you have good ones these days
I have 9 of them but it aint even that great cause they're all easy one
If you want a 99 just go for a combat one because that is most usefull

That's the thing though, it shouldn't matter what the community thinks of it, just what you think because you put your time and effort into getting it.

f(x) = x ÷ (total experience ÷ 13,034,431), where x = years of play.
If you are f2p, multiply x by (1/2). If you don't think 100M is a big deal, multiply x by 2.
If f(x) > 1, you either have a life or some other very demanding obsession.
If f(x) < 1, the solution represents the probability that you have a life outside RS.

I would really like to get 99 fishing to be honest, or 99 range. But both of these will take a very long, extended amount of time, and i know i would probably give up.
but, I have no clue what i'll do :\.

I fixed it to work off total experience.

99's are special to the person if they feel they put hard work into it. I think all of my combat 99's are special to me as thats what I liked to do.
By Joe mamma27 on 17/02/2009
Nah I don't think it matters if someone doesn't have a 99 or not. I don't see why people think 99 cooking is a 'noob' 99 either. It's pretty useful and not everyone has it, although it's very common.
By Reticked on 17/02/2009
I lol only when other people have fm capes

But it doesn't matter much. If you had all 98s, what can people say to you? not much.
By Indivi2you on 17/02/2009
Ok... well
I have 99 fletching, my only 99 skill
im lvl 126, with 1939 total lvl.
Back then, i thought i needed a 99, so i got fletching as it was easy. It was a hard skill to get it in back then though... So i was proud, but stupid
Now i realise, a 99 skill is only important to you, i dont care what other think. I messed up, but dont mind. My next 99 will be mining
make yours special.

lul same ^

I'm 126 cmb with 99 fletching which I got like just a few months before Saad here, I even came to his party omg I remember that

Oh well, yeah, 99s aren't important, I primary look at total levels. Just look at Gorgemaster, like massive levels but no 99.

+ he's hawt council of WG

Yea
Usually, one combat 99 will lead way to another combat 99 shortly.
It really isnt that difficult when combined with boring, afkable tasks around the house. (Homework, cleaning, etc.)
By Mmangler on 18/02/2009
You like others play RS for your enjoyment. If you really like a skill, you will go for the 99 or get really tired training it. Go for the sill YOU want or do not it is better if it is something you want.
I, myself, am a failed skiller. I started going for skills and got the combat fever so I have eight 99s all combat or combat related. I current have no non combat 99s.

Yo
So you're still alive eh?
By Elyxiatic on 18/02/2009
I got 99 agility as my first cape
I glad I did too.
Make the first one special.
After that it doesn't really matter.
By Geoff_Bland on 18/02/2009
Just get a 99 combat skill (preferably Attack/Strength/Defence - Hp will come later) and you'll be fine.
Easy to get as well.
By Dorcha3377 on 19/02/2009
Find something you like to do and raise it by degrees. It doesn't make me look down on someone who is lower combat than I.
I enjoyed doing cmb so I did it. I can only work at other things now. Just do what you want and don't worry about what other people think.
By Bloodpure0 on 20/02/2009
99's? I'm for 'em
I got 99 str for my first a few weeks ago
I did really want a 99, but i wouldn't just fletch or cook or firemake just to get the cape...
I might just do it to trim my str. lol. (not)
I got str cause i just like smacking stuff hard.
really all i want is 99 slayer
