Do not report Snow.

By Stokenut on 13/03/2008
Snowzak has been hacked as far as we can tell.
I've been given two screenshots of evidence from two different members. He just randomly started verbally abusing them.
For security reasons i have changed his account to Clan Friend on the forums, just incase they have his forum password.
I called him, he was asleep and had no idea this was happening. He is doing his best to get on his computer.

In the meantime, two things to keep in mind:
- Don't report him. No matter what he says.
- Don't agree to loan him items via BH transfer for obvious reasons.

By ArSeNaLfAn32 on 13/03/2008
Ouch. I will definently follow what you've told us to do. I pray he doesn't lose his account.

By Spicy63 on 13/03/2008
Best of luck to you Snow. (When your able to see this)

Hackers are such giant penises.

I mean, if you're blowing time to hack someone's Runescape account and call their online friends jews, you must have no life at all.

Hope Snow gets it back without much trouble.

By Stokenut on 13/03/2008
His ban appeal was successful, I checked it for him.
He will not receive council back on these forums until he sorts out the keylogger on his computer.

Awww...Hackers are sad. sad.gif

Hope to hear the possibilities of how he got hacked/keylogged so we can all take precautions. Sorry to hear.

By Pazenon on 13/03/2008
Good thing his RS account got its appeal successful. Good luck getting it back Snow hash.png

By Sir Wolfoo on 13/03/2008
fucking hackers...

By Indivi2you on 13/03/2008
Ouch, that sucks... i still never realized how people keylogged into rs accounts... i can understand other games, bu rs seems so weird and a bit stupid to keylog.

1. You have to wait a long time for the bank pin to change...
2. Now transferring things onto acc's us super hard.
3. You probably don't even get far hacking the acc, because the person probably used recovery questions to get it back...

Anyways, good luck Snow. Hope everything works out.

I'm not a wiz at computer stuff, but i think even if he gets his acc back the key logger might still be infecting his computer. So, if he does change his pass back the hacker will still know what it is. Good luck at getting your account back Snowzak.

By David on 14/03/2008
Good luck Snowzak.

This is exactly why I bought a Mac. Nobody tries to attack these babies. hash.png

What Carrot said is right though. Getting the account back will have no effect on the computer and it's infection. You'd have to change your pass and recovery questions on a separate computer to make sure that the hacker doesn't get your account again.

Even after that, you'd have to totally mess up your computer. I'd actually recommend just buying a new one if that is possible. A lot of the time, people just think doing a virus scan and putting the infected files in the quarantine will take care of the problem, but you'd probably have to wipe your computer clean and start over, and even then there is no guarantee that the thing is gone. Depending on the complexity of the program, it may have embedded itself into your HD, and could come back even after you clean your HD.

You'd likely lose all your stuff, unless you have a lot of it on a backup external.

I'm sure you know this already, so it's nothing new. Just be very careful and do nothing important on your computer now, because it could cost you a lot.

By Pazenon on 14/03/2008
Now now don't scare him off biggrin.gif
I once had a keylogger. Virus scanned my PC, found it. Nevertheless, the virus scan program couldn't delete the keylogger; so I had to get a stronger program which actually managed to delete the keylogger, totally, from my PC. Nothing bad happened after that.
It all depends on the strength of the trojan/keylogger. Some anti virus programs tell you the strength of the key logger, like Norton. /recommend

Oh thats grave news, good luck Snow hope you get it back.

Avast scans all files, even private. Combine that with Spybot Search & Destroy, C Cleaner and Zone Alarm. You'll be fine.

GL snowy, hackers fail irl imo, people spend time gaining stuff on a acc that the hackers cant do coz they stink then they decide to go take what someones worked for...

By rachellove9 on 15/03/2008
If you live in the US I would not take to geek squad They couldn't fix a simple microphone problem and me that knows very lil did fix it in like four days of thinking it through

Glad you got your acct back and good luck

By Zlatan83 on 15/03/2008
ready, set, report @@

By Pseudomage0 on 15/03/2008
That stinks ill be sure not to report him, hope he gets it back

By Stokenut on 15/03/2008
His runescape account is currently banned...
Not good.

By Pazenon on 16/03/2008
****. He could appeal his ban if the 'hacker' was the one who did the offences on his account, therefore easily getting his account back.

By Snowzak on 19/03/2008
The appeals have been in for a few days now, they're still "pending". The hacker committed 10-11 offenses, so it's going to be tough.

By Starzhine on 21/03/2008
Good luck Snow. I know that Jagex is great when it comes to this sort of thing. When I was playing from a public library isp, someone tried to hack me. I let Jagex know right away and they caught the guy. So hang in there.

Fortunately for me, they did not get into my account, but they tried.

Now I am back behind a hardware firewall and feeling a little safer. But I change my password regularly now.

Thinking of you fondly and sending good luck!
