Why don't you PvP?

By Eregion2 on 01/03/2009
This is kind of important. I've seen many people recently say the reasons people aren't coming to PvP events are due to them not having enough money or not having the skills necessary to succeed at it; basically that people are using the title "Skiller" as an excuse to avoid PvP because they don't want to lose their time or items. This is a valid point, but I tend to think it's due to the fact that some people just passionately hate PvP in general. Hence the survey; maybe it'll help us figure out what's really behind this discontinuity so we can fix it and move on.

Hai der.

I vote gud.

I just generally don't like pvp. I don't even do it on my own time.

I only PvP with a clan. I will raid semi-often, but if it is a war I will go.

So I nulled.

I voted that I just don't like PvP events much. Mostly, I get frustrated because I can't find the pile (even with names called on TS I'm looking for our spam and there is none sometimes) and also because I just don't find it much fun sitting there attacking some guy, chasing him down, binding him, etc. Its just not interesting because you don't get anything out of it.

EDIT: Also, it seems that almost every time I get on RS there is a war/raid (usually spontaneous). If its a planned event then I feel that its my obligation to attend, but I've skipped two spontaneous raids in the past 2 weeks just because they happened to be during my only free time that I wanted to spend skilling.

Well I hope people who vote about the money issue remember all the GWD's we've been doing lately.

Done for every timezone, and everyone who wanted to come to atleast one managed to. So the money issue is really invalid tongue.gif

I never solo pk, I find it boring, but with clans it's fun.

And if WG doesn't do PvP it's gonna die so hashdown.gif.png

WG wont die as long as it has a stable base of loyal members.

I didn't vote because there wasn't an "other" category. I do pvp, as much as I can on the scheduled events. But.....when I work a 10 hour day, and log in for some chill time while I'm opening my mail and reading forums....I am not as anxious to drop all and come running. Which is not WG's fault in the least....just explaining why when Glenn pms me and says "come quick" I am like "sigh".....and not overly enthusiastic, lol. rolleyes.gif

You didn't put an other option so I nulled.

I don't PvP because Runescape PvP sucks. There is no point to it al all. It's nothing but follow and attack. there is no true skill involved.. No clicking on food is not a skill. There is nothing that could ever convince me that runescape PvP is worth playing as I have done it myself and know from experience that there is no skill involved. Maybe if JAgex gets with the times and adds attacks and healing skills to at least make the game interesting I might think about it... Runescape is just so far behind....

What about single-combat fights? I feel very similar and that's what I'd like to see.

I'm not into killing other players at all. I really dislike that part of game. After talking to someone about why I don't like it, I started to think more about it. I'm okay with training on certain things but people killing is just not my thing.

I don't because: I like fighting but I don't like returning; it turns me off.

Both of these are true for me. However, I voted for the latter.

I don't because: I don't like player-vs-player events much.
I don't because: I like fighting but I don't like returning; it turns me off.
I don't because: I'm not good at PvP and die all the time; it's discouraging.

Voted the last of those 3, but they all apply. I'm okay with once a week, but the returning is annoying as all hells. I'm not good at changing gear to bind & melee. It's not something that I will learn easy. I also get sick from that adrenaline rush that you guys seem to enjoy so much.

I get an upset stomach or headache every time at the wars/raid things. Even at the duel arena. I just thought it was stress, but maybe you have the right thing there.

With the results right now... either like 70% of the clan hasn't voted. or they just lied...

Pretty strong against money being an issue though, which was one of the key issues. evilneko.gif

It's not the money i was talking about. 23 people don't attend pvp events.

If you cant attend pvp because of yuor timezone, but you want to. you better have not voted that you do, because you dont. same with money, same with skilling/dislike of pvp.

By Majeic on 03/03/2009
I attend all pvp events that I can, and pvp without the clan as well.

By Dieyou2000 on 03/03/2009
I do PvP you prick! *evil glare* [ 26 ] [63.41%]
I don't because: I don't like player-vs-player events much. [ 7 ] [17.07%]
I don't because: Money is an issue, I can't afford it. [ 0 ] [0.00%]
I don't because: I like fighting but I don't like returning; it turns me off. [ 3 ] [7.32%]
I don't because: I don't have time during scheduled PvP events to show up. [ 3 ] [7.32%]
I don't because: I'm not good at PvP and die all the time; it's discouraging. [ 2 ] [4.88%]

Those are the results I just saw when I logged in after school today.

Now...I don't know about you but I'm a bit confused. 26 people say they do pvp, compared to a total 15 who don't for one reason or another. Then why do we get horrible attendance to raids. Just yesterday me and only a few other people were on doing some ge luring maybe 5 of us max, and when I checked the lobby there had to be at least 30 people there.

Let's have some good raids this weekend yah? woeh.gif
