Jagex Skill Cup Guide

Ok, so in this guide i will give you the run down on what to train for each skill, and if possible, how more people can help get as much experience in the 2 hours we can.
Mining
What to Use
Start off with Mining a Crashed Star.
Try and get an inferno adze, otherwise rune pickaxe
Bonus Xp Items
Varrock Achievement Diary Armor
- Extra Ore = Extra Xp (Need Level 2 or 3 Armor Though)
Familiars
- 7 Desert Wyrm Pouches, 18 Summoning, Boosts +1 Mining
- 5 Void Ravager, 37 Summoning, Boosts +1 Mining
- 3 Obsidian Golem, 73 Summoning, Boosts +7 Mining
- 2 Lava Titan, 83 Summoning, Boosts +10 Mining
Time Savers
Have someone trade for your granite you mine so you don't waste time dropping them.
Where to Train
- You will need 5gp to go through the Shanty Pass
- You will need 200gp to ride the magic carpet.
- You will need a pharaoh's sceptre and teleport to Jaldraocht (Must have done Desert Treasure)
Fishing
What to Use
Barbarian Heavy Rod + Fishing Bait
Bonus Xp Items
Admiral Pies
- Boost your fishing level by 5 temporary and are really cheap.
Familiars
- 7 Granite Crab, 16 Summoning, Boosts +1 Fishing
- 4 Ibis, 56 Summoning, Boosts +3 Fishing
- 3 Granite Lobster, 74 Summoning, Boosts +4 Fishing
Time Savers
You can drop 2 fish before you catch another, as there is a time limit between catching 2 fish.
Where to Train
Run down from Barbarian Assault, where you can teleport to with a games necklace.
The mini-quest Barbarian Training is required for this.
NOTE: You may get your heavy rod frolm underneath Otto's bed just south of the fishing spot.
Woodcutting
What to Use
Dragon Axe, you may borrow one if needed. Rune Axe's are unnacceptable.
Bonus Xp Items
Lumberjack (Optional)
- Will give an extra 2.1 experience per teak log cut.
Familiars
- 5 Beaver, 33 Summoning, Boosts +2 Woodcutting
Time Savers
Have someone trade for your logs you cut so you don't waste time dropping them.
Where to Train
FOR KARAMJA SPOT:
You will need 100 trading sticks to enter, you can buy these off GE.
You can get here from Brimhaven dock and run south.
If you have Karamja gloves, you can teleport to Shilo Village and run north.
FOR APE ATOLL SPOT:
You will need a Ninja Monkey Gree Gree, and must have a gree gree equipped for the entire time.
You can get here from Ape Atoll Teleport or Riding the boat from Crash Island.
Agility
What to Use
Super energy potions, a Knife, Spottier cape (66 Hunter), Boots of Lightness, Penance Gloves (Barbarian Assault Minigame).
Bonus Xp Items
None.
NOTE: Familiars are not allowed while doing this.
Time Savers
Have someone run you more super energy potions so you don't waste time banking.
Where to Train
Must have a ninja gree gree equiped the whole time
Can get the via the Ape Atoll Teleport.
Thieving
What to Use
4 Spirit Terrorbirds with around 100 scrolls, food, spottier cape (66 Hunter), Boots of Lightness, Penance Gloves.
Bonus Xp Items
Familiars
- 4 Magpie, 47 Summoning, SCROLL Boosts +2 Thieving.
- 3 Abyssal Lurker, 62 Summoning, SCROLL Boosts +4 Theiving.
NOTE: If you decide to use the familiars listed above, you must use super agility potions instead of a Spirit Terrorbird.
Time Savers
Have people give you supplies when running low.
ALSO, have people inside the pyramid running as well, so you don't spend time working out which door you need to open.
Where to Train
Ride the magic carpet from Pollnivneach, where you can get to via house portal or Shantey Pass.
You will need 400gp to ride both carpets, only 200 for the one if you use the house portal.
Hunter
What to Use
4 Fishing Nets + 4 Ropes (59-80 Hunter), 5 Box Traps + Full Larupia Armor (80+ Hunter)

Hunter Potion (Optional)
- Boosts Hunter Level by 3
Familiars
- Spirit Graahk, 57 Summoning, Boosts +5 Hunter
- Spirit Kyatt, 57 Summoning, Boosts +5 Hunter

We will have 10-20 People running essence to the skiller at the ZMI altar. So the skiller will trade cash for essence while people run.

For wc- I heard that willow cutting is the quickest- yes or no?
Thieving- PP -GO TO AN EMPTY A WORLD AS POSSIBLE. Yes people may help you with working out which door it is BUT - every time someone new enters the game, the doors in each room get RESET.
- I am sure that it has happened to you, you search all the doors in a room, and then none of em are correct, so you have to go back and check them all.
Play alone.
Dilz taught me that for the last skills olympics and I have tested it. More exp.

we get 4 people go in before the skiller
then they each stand at a door.
anyway, im pretty sure the doors just change every 5 minutes, not everytime someone else enters. we will manage
oh and no, teaks are fastest, you can confirm with anat, they are about 5k p/hr faster, prob more if we get someone to drop instead of the skiller

Zarfot has some good youtube guides for the fastest Thieving, woodcutting and mining exps in the game.
And we need a runecrafting guide too, incase that might be the skill.

For fishing instead of dropping, could we have some clan members there to trade the fish to or are they untradeable?
If we did it in a few 1-2 hour blocks, and had one or two people willing to come talk to the fishers and take their invents off their hands, it would be faster.

Yep we talked about this.
There's really no way to organise it... but i'll send out the word.
What I suggest is that you ask if people can come and help you.
I can help mid-way through the first week and for the second week.

umm originally this was the plan.
however, with a great catch from anat, he worked out there is a certain time limit between when you can catch 2 fish.
so basically, you have to wait X seconds before you catch another fish.
therefore, you can drop 2 fish, before you can catch another, meaning, you continuously are fishing and dont need a person to stand and drop for you.
i hope that clears that up for everyone.

Are there any specific numbers you can give for this? I'd like to use it if it's easier. Also, would this change whether or not Barbarian fishing is more feasible than fly fishing?

and angus, barb is 5k exp an hour faster chopping up the food for bait, so it will be about 10-15k faster dropping 2 every 1 you catch, depends you how good you are

Jasi, when mining granite, do you mine faster than the respawn with or without other miners present? If yes, there may be a faster way though I have not timed it.

The other day for hunter I went to red chins in a PvP world. Empty except for a 21 skiller. If you could get a pker "guard" for the hunter, then three people could skill there with little/no interfearance.

Seeing as woodcutting is the next skill, I'd like to point out that the previously mentioned method of dropping fish works similarly with cutting teaks, as explained in this guide: http://www.zybez.net/community/index.php?showtopic=1130176
What to do: Cut a few teaks. Then, when you have at least one teak already in your inventory, right click and be ready to drop it. As soon as you cut another teak from the tree, drop it and click the tree quickly again. You can only drop one teak at a time. Here is the exact quote:
