because it wasn't due till now=procrastinaton

Im writing a paper on the issue of whether or not The gaza and israeli war is just war based on Catholic doctrine on the topic(yes i go to a private school)
Heres what I have so far. Really not that hard now that I have started, but starting was hell.

Atm I am expressing the Catholic doctrine on a just war, then I am going into Gaza and Israli involvement and if their situation on the issue.

______

A Just War: Israel and Gaza
The constant fighting between Israel and Gaza has hit a climax in the past few months and is almost at a breaking point. Both sides keep playing the victim and retaliating in return for their grievances. In a war such as this with each side demonizing the other and fighting in defense of their lands, many questions come to mind. The question with the most meaning, and the question the rest of the world is asking is whether this is a just war or not. This concerns not one, but both countries as they have had hostilities towards each other for hundreds of years erupting right now in a blaze of hostility. Whether Israel or Gaza is in the wrong or if they both are unjust in their handling of the situation is the true question that needs to be answered.
The current guidelines based off of Catholic doctrine on the Just War theory is packed with information and many holes. It is hard to interpret, however, it has strict guidelines that must be followed for a war to be just with the mindset of following the Catholic idea on the guidelines for a war to be just. With correct descriptions and unbiased and accurate interpretation the Catholic ideals on the issue itself can be found and represented with confidence by the populous of the Church.
“The strict conditions for legitimate defense by military force require rigorous consideration. The gravity of such a decision makes it subject to rigorous conditions of moral legitimacy. At one and the same time:
• the damage inflicted by the aggressor on the nation or community of nations must be lasting, grave, and certain;
• all other means of putting an end to it must have been shown to be impractical or ineffective;
• there must be serious prospects of success;
• the use of arms must not produce evils and disorders graver than the evil to be eliminated. The power of modern means of destruction weighs very heavily in evaluating this condition.
These are the traditional elements enumerated in what is called the "just war" doctrine. The evaluation of these conditions for moral legitimacy belongs to the prudential judgment of those who have responsibility for the common good.”(Just War Doctrine)

The above quote displays the current expression of Catholic doctrine on the Just War based upon the Catechism of the Catholic Church. To summarize this expresses that damage caused by the aggressor must be permanent and cause a large amount of damage, every method of diplomacy must have failed, success must be highly probable and the weapons used must not cause more damage than what was being eliminated. From this expression more detail is found when delving into each topic.
When investigation the information about the topic of “The damage inflicted by the aggressor on the nation or community of nations must be lasting, grave, and certain”(Just War Doctrine) we look at its other meanings. This includes not fighting for wealth, influence, land, or to control a group of people. The ONLY reason to go to war is in retaliation to being attacked first. This includes countries but also groups such as terrorist and drug organizations. The damage must also be crippling to the force being fought in order to disable their ability to ever retaliate and cause more death and pain. Lastly for this issue the aggressor does not always have to be the first to strike. If there is a certainty that aggression will occur from the foe, attacking first is allowable in order to cripple the opposing force before an even larger danger occurs within the enemy.(Just War Doctrine)
