Introducing...

By His Lordship on 26/03/2009
Darkzero101 as our new raid leader!
DZ is of course a seasoned warlord for WG and has been elected based on his ability AND loyalty AND attitude. It is rather rare for a member to skip up to raid leader in one shot, but I don't think many would disagree that this is the strongest possible move for the raid leaders.

Event Leaders?
Well, this one, we've decided to hold applications for.

Open to members and up, since that's only fair considering DZ was a member.
Council ultimately decides though, and the tertiaries have some say in it too.
But HURRY. The apps only last 2 days. We're deciding on the weekend.
More detailed apps have better chances.

Good luck to anyone who applies. We really need someone with a spark for fun events! With our recruitment, activity appearance will greatly affect applicants on their decisions. smile.gif
Good luck, Sean. You are an insanely capable leader. Hell, you taught me everything I know lol. I look forward to working with you. #

By Eregion2 on 26/03/2009
Congratulations to DZ!

And good luck to all those who put some thought into their application! happy.gif

By Tnuac on 26/03/2009
Mate, good call. Because I'm not council anymore I can put common sense ahead of democracy, and sean as raid leader could be the start of a revolution. He's without a doubt one of the best we've had.

Good luck to event leader appliants.

By Quikdrawjoe on 26/03/2009
The world has come full circle. wub.gif

By Nick on 26/03/2009
Whoa. I am quite surprised to see DZ promoted to Raid Leader without applications, even though he would have gotten it anyways if he applied, in my opinion. Congratz to you DZ on that. I will be happy to raid under you again. hash.png

As for event leader, my hours are too sporadic for me to be able to host events, even though I would love to help the clan by helping lead it. Oh well. neko2.gif

Best of luck to all who apply. May the best one win. biggrin.gif

By rachellove9 on 26/03/2009
wub.gif Yeah for DZ. Your a great choice and I can see why council skipped the applications this time. Wisedom is a good thing.

I have some thoughts who would be a great event leader. I hope they apply. Good Luck to everyone. Remember it is not the easiest positon to have and a lot of times you get overworked. Just cause your more into wars then skills doesn't mean you should not apply. War people can make great event leaders.

By Karlfischer on 26/03/2009
Excellent choice there. While I would normally be concerned about loyalty issues considering he has only been back with us for a few months, I think the fact he is still here after so many pvp-oriented players mass-left is good proof of his loyalty.

What do you have to offer as an Event Leader?
I could offer creativity in events and some enthusiasm to get everyone pumped for events. I am a very friendly person and love to help anyone with anything. I would also make sure to host events that would be beneficial and fun to every single member of WG. Another idea of mine is conversing with the members and finding what type of events that they prefer.

Is there anything coming up in the next 6 months that could make you inactive?
There is nothing that i can think of in the next 6 months that would make me go inactive. However, I am going to France(Paris & Pont Audemer) from April 8th until April 18th; this isn't anything major as I would be coming back.

What puts you above other people applying for Event Leader?
I would say that I have a little more experience in the event section of a clan than others. I was in the Events Council of a previous clan, The Legacy, and I enjoyed creating/attending events. Creativity is a major talent of mine, I would think of some pretty awesome events that would grab the attention of individuals searching for clans.

Is there anything else you would like to say?
A downfall would be that I cannot speak on TS. I do have a mic but nobody can hear me speak on TS, i've tried messing with the settings and it's hopeless.

By DZ on 26/03/2009
I am lost for words. Well not really, as I am about to type out a speech :$ but I think you know what I mean.

I don't even know what to say. I know I have let down in the past and I still kill myself, regretting it almost every day for it. I know that WG is my home. After playing this game for several years and being in different clans at different stages of the history of the clan world, I have come to realize many important things. WG has what many other clans don't, a tightly knit core. That is what makes us. It gives us our strength, and I know it may not always seem like it, but we really have a great thing going here. I really hope that I am able to help restore WG to what it once was before because I know we are capable. We may be going through a rough patch at the moment, but we can get through it. We have been through much worse and if that didn't shake us, this, and nothing will. To anyone who may doubt me this time around (4 I think? Believe me, I'm not proud of that), let me prove to you that I am here and I am here to stay. WG was my first real clan and home, and I assure you, it will be my last. I know this is my home and I assure you, I am here until the end.

A big thank you goes out to Lordy and the Council for giving me this chance, I will not be a let down. Thank you to all those who support me, you don't know how much it means to me.

Guardians! Prepare for Glory! king.gif

I wish those who apply for Event Leader the best of luck. I can think of quite a few people who would do a great job. smile.gif

What do you have to offer as an Event Leader?

Well, where do I start.

I have been through a variety of leadership ranks during my time in WG so I have a huge amount of experience to offer. I have seen what events work and what dont, so hopefully I will be able to bring that spark back which seems to have been lost after George stepped up to council.

I also have a fair bit of spare time so once I'm ready I should be able to run as many events as needed, while also being able to moderate the IRC etc.

Is there anything coming up in the next 6 months that could make you inactive?

Yes. This is the main reason I was hesitant to post an application.

I am away this weekend on a Geology Field trip, and while I will be back for the week I will then be going away for a week field trip and then a further 1 and a half weeks on holiday before returning to university. I will be travelling to area's without internet for that period so I will not be on RS/Forums at all.

What puts you above other people applying for Event Leader?

-Experience
-Timezone
-Ability
-Maturity

I think these are the main reasons why I would make a good Event leader. I do have a huge wealth of experience having been a Skill leader for ~10 months and council for ~6 months, both of which I think I did a fairly good job at.

Is there anything else you would like to say?

As I said above I was hesitant to post this application. Though I would really like the role this couldn't have come at a much worse time for me with this field trip coming up soon.

Ah well.

What do you have to offer as an Event Leader?

I can offer something new and something different. A different outlook, and a fresh slate. I'm a creative person, and an adaptive person so I'll offer new types of events and be able to shape current events into "new" events that may not be as boring. I would try to get the rest of the clan involved in the types of events that get hosted. So it wouldn't just be a rotation of events after each ToG. Or a simple vote for the Skills of the week. I'd do more to get us all involved, rather than me just saying "Hey, event this Friday, be there."

Is there anything coming up in the next 6 months that could make you inactive?

I go on summer holiday from early June to late June/early July, don't remember the exact schedule.

What puts you above other people applying for Event Leader?

What puts me above other people applying? I think what puts me above the rest is my creativity. I have a wild imagination and often find myself thinking of events I've never been to, or heard of before. I come up with ways to combine certain skills and tasks that wouldn't normally be put together. Just now, I thought of an event that I would find incredibly fun.

Is there anything else you would like to say?

I'd like to ask people to look beyond my low event count. Just because it's not in the 100s doesn't mean I'm not an active member of the clan. I go to whatever event is going on provided I'm at home, and on a number of occasions have stayed home to attend key events if possible. I make most wars despite the fact that they're almost always at 3-4 AM. I am forum and IRC active. Just because a number says I haven't been to a bunch of events doesn't mean I don't contribute or dedicate myself to this clan.

By Abmanju on 26/03/2009
Ah Good on you Sean for taking up the position again, hope you can lead us into wars like you always do =D

You, Bto & Mickey will make a fine Raid Leading team. Remember to communicate as best you can@

Good luck to whoever is going for Event Leader neko2.gif

What do you have to offer as an Event Leader?

well i believe myself to be a creative person and could bring new, exciting and never thought of events to WG that our members would enjoy doing, also i have been in WG for quite some time now and i have seen what events people enjoy doing and what they don't so i believe i could improve our event attendance and bring back the enjoyment back into our non-PvP events that we had before smile.gif

Is there anything coming up in the next 6 months that could make you inactive?

Apart from my Exam in may there is nothing else keeping me from doing a good job as event leader smile.gif

What puts you above other people applying for Event Leader?

what i believe puts me above the rest, like i said above i am a creative person, event active so i have a good idea of what events people enjoy attending more than others,i am a friendly person and easy to talk to and i am open to any ideas for events that people might think would be fun smile.gif

Is there anything else you would like to say?

Good luck to the rest of the applicants and if i get this role be prepared for some fun events biggrin.gif

What do you have to offer as an Event Leader?

As an event leader, I feel that I can offer fresh ideas to the list of events, as well as reinforce training necessary skills by use of older, but still exciting events. By this, I mostly mean agility, which is far underrated and useful for the PvP aspect of WG. I also feel that I have the ability to inspire someone to train a certain skill, whether it is combat or not. Although I like to attend PvP events, I consider myself as a skiller, and I am always there when someone needs advice for a skill.

I have many ideas that would make excellent weekly/bi-weekly events, and any time there is a SOTW I am always there to host an event that supports it. As an elite guardian, I try to hold at least one event every two weeks, and I know for a fact that this would increase if I became an Event Leader.

Is there anything coming up in the next 6 months that could make you inactive?

I'll admit I have a tendency to go inactive after playing scape for 4-5 months due to boredom. Although I don't forsee this happening, it is a possibility. If it comes down to this, however, I would make it my personal duty to keep doing my job as far as admin work, hosting events and being forum/IRC active until council can find a suitable replacement.

What puts you above other people applying for Event Leader?

One word: Activity. I attend every event, war, raid, etc if I'm around. And I almost always am, unless I'm at school/work. In under 2 months, I've gained about 300 forum posts, and I am on IRC constantly, chatting with people. I've even got into the habit of using teamspeak for everyday conversation, too.

There are still other things I feel that qualify me over others in this position. I have been a trial skills leader in the past, so I slightly understand what is expected of someone in this position. I also have plenty of experience moderating boards, including ACP.

(Im)maturity is another great aspect about me. I know when to be serious, and I know when I can joke. I also don't take a joke to far, especially if I'm not sure how someone else will handle it. Along with maturity, I have the ability to solve turmoil within the clan. It is difficult to watch a fight between two members and not be biased, but I try to look from the outside in, as if I did not know either of the two members. I try to calm them down, and ask them to make their argument private. If it escalates to a level where I would be notified, I am certain that I could take proper action with both sides of the story.

Is there anything else you would like to say?

I'd really like to be that person that a newer member can look up to and say, "Wow, after I've spent some time here I'm sure I could do what he has done!" I say this because I'm always trying to notice when new applications are accepted, and try my very best to help any trial guardian in need to graduate. Trial guardians, after all, are the future of WG. As corny as that sounds, it is absolutely true.

I go out of my way to help someone who needs it, Trial Guardian or not. I'm always in IRC to say "Grats" or "Hi" when no one else will. I really want to set this example and have others follow it, even if I do not become an event leader.

Anyways, to anyone else who decides to apply: Good luck. I've already seen a few excellent applications and I know that the council will make a good decision no matter what. Happy skilling hash.png.

What do you have to offer as an Event Leader?
I have the ability to allow others to voice their opinions. If they want a new event, I'll think it through, bring it up with other members if they like it, and then I'll try to implement it into a schedule that that is most suitable for other guardians. I also have some leadership abilities that I have learned through 2+ years in a Marine Corps JROTC program that would help me cope with stress and any other problems that could come my way.

Is there anything coming up in the next 6 months that could make you inactive?
None at all.

What puts you above other people applying for Event Leader?
I can deal with stress in many ways. In my time of being in WG, I've learned what people want in events. When it gets boring and repetitive, they get bored and skip. With raids, more people attend because they don't know what they're heading in to, so I'll keep a mix up of events, never doing the same thing twice in a row. Also, with my experience with RuneScape, I can bring more types of events in like Jayson's previous Kill! Kill! Kill!, trying out something new for everyone.
Is there anything else you would like to say?
With my Co-leading of the event about the Live Jagex Draw, I've also had some experience leading an event. Oh Yeah, I'll actually update attendance.

Yes this application is 100% serious. =[
Probably won't be looked at since it's like 4 days late. hash.png
