The Guardian Exchange

By Randy on 30/03/2009
I had an idea but I need more input
It basically works like this

One level in Attack/Strength/Defence/HP = 1 point
One level in Prayer/Agility/Range/Mage = 0.5 points
Attending a one week+ prep war = 1 point
Being in a PKRI ending ops = 0.5 points

What are the points for?
Free rune or at discount (depending on trade limit)

Rune Scimitar - 2.5 points
Rune Full helm - 3 points
Rune Kite - 4 points
Rune Skirt - 4 points
Rune plate - 4.5 points

I guess the staff would have to help supply the rune?
Discuss and stuff

Its a cool idea, but it babies our members. Seriously, they can earn their own rune. They can manage to give something of themselves to a clan. If they can't, why are they here? I think the fact that they have these forums and the IRC to talk on is enough of a reward.

Also, the people that train are also the ones that are willing to make money for the rune. Typically, the ones that refuse to train are the ones that refuse to make money to afford rune.

It is kinda wrong though. We shouldnt PAY our own members to improve themselves.

The thing is, I can't see anyone actually doing this for the rewards. Who would actually train for hours just to get a rune plate?

If this would work, it would target the wrong members. The people who would do this for the reward dont do it for the right reasons. We shouldnt reward the members who do the right thing for the right reasons.

However, rewarding activity would be a different thing (attending wars, being in ending opts). I still dont think we should pay our members though. Recognition would probably be a very influential factor.

Maybe we could have a hall of fame or something recognizing members who've done their work?

Hmm, I like that.

Like, biggest war streak, most wars, least amount of deaths etc

I'll tell you right now I'm not going to contribute to THEIR rune sets. What is stopping our members to put effort into THEIR OWN CLAN to buy THEIR OWN rune sets?

Lal DZ is back wub.gif

He speaks the truth and I agree with other people that they should be able to get their own... is getting rune sets a problem anymore? Based on the returning rate at the CR pkri last weekend, I think not....
