I don't like blogs or myspace either. Fact of the matter is 99% of bands that have been signed have them though, so just get used to it. It's called marketing and it's part of being signed and having publicity.

As for being sellouts I'm assuming you say that because they belong to a major record company. I've heard this argument tons and never understand it in the least, but to me it seems if you can sign with a huge, well known label it just gets you more air time and exposure to get your opinions and views out there. Why be a nobody and never be heard if you can get people to hear your voice and what you have to say. It's still Green Day and it's still their music.

If you just plain don't like their music then that's fine. I just loved that whole thing when American Idiot came out and everybody loved Green Day, but then they were really popular so all the popular kids started not listening to them because it wasn't original anymore, and therefore Green Day became uncool. Dontcha love kids.

Real punk bands don't get paid millions for companies to post their faces all over the place. If you look up "sell out" in a dictionary, you will see a picture of Billy Joe Armstrong's face.

Just looked up the Sex Pistols on wikipedia by the way since they pretty much broke in the punk scene and started the whole thing.

Interesting that they've been signed to not one, but four different major record labels. Hypocrisy is fun isn't it.

I went to a Greenday concert with a chick because it was her favorite band and her birthday... Lol. It was iight. They have some good singles. Never really got into their style.

I'm just saying that even the bands that started the genre didn't even live up to the standards they themselves set and criticized other bands of doing.

The Ramones and The Clash both were on major record companies too.

The only way to say a band is really true 100% punk is I guess if they're some underground shit nobody has ever heard of. Just don't start hating bands because they got popular and well known.

If you want give me an example of a band that is true punk rock, and then maybe I'll understand, but until then I really don't get where you're coming from.

No. Most pop stars like Miley Cyrus, Britney Spears, Jonas Brothers, etc..WANT to be famous..so they aren't exactly sellouts.

Same with hair metal bands. They try to be rock stars.

It's ironic that the people that want to be famous are the ones without any talent and vice versa..
