New Headset

By Abmanju on 18/04/2009

Well, Sennheiser is like the best for headsets, I would say.

But the thing is, I can't find any headsets that cover the whole ear with great comfortableness AND have a lovely microphone.

My friend has a HD415 and when I put it on...Oh my god...SOOOO comfortable, Just loved it, except, no microphone.

Sure, the PC350 has both of what I need...but it's a bit expensive, I was going to buy it, but having second thoughts.

I bought the PC151, but, I'm returning it because the earcups are too small, gives me a headache.

It's mainly for: Gaming, Listening to Music and using my Rosetta Stone software (That's why I need microphone), Oh, and Long distance calls on Skype.

Anyone have any recommendations?

HD555 + A seperate microphone is supposedly the best combination, unfortunately HD555s are extremely expensive. I personally use the Steelseries Siberia headset, which isn't as expensive but I find it very good.

Mine were in the $50 t0 $80 range USA I have such great comfort that I could easy fall asleep listening to music. The brand is Logitech. I pay a bit extra and keep a warrantee on them in case my dog steps on them again.

This is the exact same one I use. I have the USB sound card version (but you can use it with just the regular 3.5mm jacks), and it comes with software that allows you to control EVERYTHING with your headset, and seperate clip-on mic it comes with. It's very comfortable, and durable as well.

BTW, I wouldn't recommend buying any type of headset from Logitech. They break very easily (either snap or the wiring goes bad, or both). I've owned 4 different models of them, all broke/malfunctioned, and even though you can get free replacements even w/o warranty, it's just a hassle. Plus, none of their models are easy on the ears. They hurt after ~3 hours of use >.>

Went with the Siberia, I remember watching a video review of this a while back, and was quite impressed with it.

Hopefully it's comfy on the ears with good sound quality#

Thanks guys.

Bose is GOOD, but not the best.

There's a company called Shure. They make better headphones/earbuds and whatnot than Bose does for sure.

A Bose sound system is pretty good I must say. Not worth the price though. You can make your own speakers and get better sound.

Lazy rich people buy Bose. The REAL audio nuts make their own systems.

Eh... you don't need a great headset. What you need is a great set of earphones and a microphone which will work well for teamspeak.

When you look at it that way, you can find what you want for much cheaper.
I suggest doing what I do: I have a nice pair of headphones for music, and when I need to go on TS, I wear a cheap $20 headset around my neck, microphone angled up in front of my mouth. It feels a bit odd at first, but its a very nice and cheap solution.

The main advantage here is that you get to use whatever pair of headphones you prefer - not to mention that headphones are -much- cheaper than headsets.

Just my 2c.
