Activity Push
By His Lordship on 22/04/2009
We have a reasonably accurate 67 member ML.
And 37 out of 67 to a war is acceptable.
But we CAN do better.
The American raid should have been getting 30 people.
The Aussie raid should have been getting 15.
The Euro raid should have been getting 30.
That was when we had fixed times.
But the raid leaders and Glenn are going to scrap fixed times.
Assume they are on this weekend though.
_________________
Look, things are bleak.
We have to have the attendance.
I don't want to make things seem negative and gloomy, and I won't.
But the message is, attend your events.
Don't forget about them and toss them aside.
The entire ML is active enough to be going to a few events a week.
The leadership can't do any more.
Members are hiding and faking being busy IRL because they simply can't be stuffed.
Events are not a chore.
They are actually fun if we get enough people.
It's a cycle. We think the event won't get good pulls so we don't go ourselves, setting the expectation up for the next event.
As I'm on inactivity myself I'm being a little hypocrite, and I can't event type this post out more fully, but I will pledge more activity.
Please make the special effort.
Leaders can't do any more.
The ball is in your court.
By Sonixpber on 22/04/2009
Spot on! This is exactly what I was saying in Level 2. Don't toss aside any event. If you are online, be there. If you have to leave soon, thats acceptable. But don't make a habit of it, otherwise it is obvious to everyone that you've been skipping.

PUSHH!!!! PUSHHH!!!! THE BABY'S ALMOST THERE!!!
Yeah but really, the more people that go the more fun the events are.
So Nike, just do it.

Sounds good, I'll try to be extra active. I need to get some recruits though lol. I seem to fail at that.

At least you don't expect 30 to the Aussie raid.

Cmon guys, it's up to you.
By Jayson on 22/04/2009
yea, we should be getting way more than what we should to aussie raids
we are lucky to get 6 or 7 members
aussie raids rely on friends way to much than it should
By Tnuac on 22/04/2009
Well said.
Sorry to be an emeritus again, but when uni starts i really won't be playing rs as usual (esp with exams coming up). Looking forward to scaping it up in the summer though.

I love raids and events. People try to talk to me on IRC, but I don't reply, because I A) Don't have highlights, and

I use mIRC, and so I don't see it.
I love events, and getting a message on runescape telling me there is an event is the best way to get me there.
It also used to be for events and the like that we'd pm every member online, and ask them all to come. That helped a ton with attendance, people knew the event would have a bunch of people when they got 30+ PM's telling people to come.
Simply communicating with people, and telling them there is an event is the best way to get attendance.
.......... On that note, I don't think I can make any events this weekend.
Who's up for a raid tonight?
By spanthrax on 22/04/2009
personally as a non-warrer i get shit on by a lot of individuals, they state that i never go to non-pvp events. this is due to our event leaders holding events at midday when im away at my job irl. and i would gladly come if they were after 5 pm eastern on mon-thurs. but most events simply aren't that late so i cannot attend and ppl ridicule me for it and call me a leach. so i say have more events towards evening est and ill show you vastly improved activity. im doing the best i can here and i would appreciate more respect from my fellow clan mates than i am currently recieving.

Sorry I have school until 5 every day.
Not even an activity push is going to get me out of that.
Overall I wish more WG would just scape for fun with each other. Recently I've been hanging out in RSD's clan chat, because they always have 10-15 people online who are actually playing the game. WG usually seems to have 5-6, and there is no communication outside of IRC which is usually dead.
It's really tough to have a good clan if half of everyone doesn't play the game that the clan revolves around.

Anyways, well said lordy
This requires a joint effort from EVERYONE, even just for a couple of weeks.

Yo i'd love to have events at Midday, events are ALWAYS LATE GMT do you EVER see a Event (BAR AUSSIE RAID) thats early for Gmt? Hell if your Gmt and want to attend events you gotta go to work/school come home, skip going out with friends and attend the event.
Or Stay up till 2am go to event then wake up early for work.
Times will always be shit for different timezone's which is why they should have MORE of them and alternate the times weekly. But then again When people Skip even when there online, i don't blame Event leaders/Raid leaders for not wanting to bother.

You can easily fulfill both of your A and B problems. I have highlights and I have mIRC, and I can play RuneScape and watch what is going on in IRC just fine. Just PM me when you see me on, and I can help you. Saying that you use mIRC is no excuse to not see events, as they are clearly posted in the events tab up above, in the events forum, and you can ask event leaders about them.
On topic, I believe this is great. The cycle that events go in is, more people, more fun, more events, more people, more recruits and such. And then again, it works the opposite (just change every more to less). I try my best to be communicative with everyone, but sometimes I just don't and can't. If everyone partakes in the improvement of the clan, we will get better. People just have to try; even myself.

sigh, im getting kind of frustrated and im gonna be real honest w/ every1:
I FEEL ALL WE EVER DO IS RAIDS =[
RAIDS, RAIDS, AND MORE RAIDS
first event in the clan? rushed to a raid then screamed at because i didnt know what gear you guys wanted me to wear, accused of lying how many times i returned, some other little things id rather not say on here
then on saturday ? MEGARAID
sunday? pkri
when can we do some other stuff like castle wars clan wars god wars kq soul wars that kind of stuff...its not that i dont like pkris and raids but they get boring we do that all the time..i say this clan wont get any better if you dont accept other members suggestions and open up to some ppls commentary..how do we expect to change if no action is being taken. im not saying this just because im unsatisfied by poll results that the majority of the clan likes events the way they are im saying there are other ppl also that want to contribute..but we'll never get any better as a whole if we never even try those events out. dont like the event? fine. you dont have to go, but dont even say sorry if council or a leader gets mad.

Right, I know. My point is that an in-game communication system is the BEST way of getting people to know about events. Forums and IRC help, but in-game, where we're playing, is the best.

Yeah there should be variety. I know people have different schedules and such.
Midday GMT is like evening Aussie too right?
I'm sure some of them would appreciate an event at that time too.
I'm not looking from a GMT perspective though, hence my rant.
By Big Al 002 on 23/04/2009
yeh i also like in-game communication, thats y i thought it was kind of weird to have an outside chat but i started to like it more..thing is about irc there can be like 22 ppl in chat but only 3 talking

I am sometimes on after 5:00 EST but I am at the mercy of the internet connection or lack thereof at the lodging that I am at because I travel a lot. I try not to do anything that requires a solid connection because many of the connections will lag at best at sporadic times or drop and oops just lost everything--so I try not to have much. Week ends I have irl stuff but I try to attend most events though war, war, war is not the only thing that I would like to do. My apologies for not being in communication this week; I was skilling up for the skill cup and I essentially did nothing else.
