My family issue atm

By George on 29/04/2009
Hi,
Haven't told all of you this, Glenn knows to a certain extent, but I feel that I must explain the following:

My stepmother was diagnosed with cancer four years ago, I forget which cancer it was.... lung cancer originally I think, even though she's not a smoker.
Anyway she's been undergoing chemo for years, many different treatments, and recently her health has deteriorated, due to the spreading of the cancer around her body....
2 weeks ago she was rushed into hospital where she almost had to have an operation on her brain due to too much pressure up there. Luckily she didn't... but things continued to get worse...

On Saturday she was given the Last Rights after her children (aged 5, 8 and 9), and her husband (my dad) said goodbye to her, shortly before slipping into a coma.
It's now Wednesday... she is alive, but barely. She has been slipping in and out of a coma for several days and it is fair to say that life is definately leaving her... her breathing is getting heavier and she has now stopped making any sounds, let along talking...

It could be days, it could be hours.... but that is the reason for my gross inactivity at the moment.
I am sorry, but I need to be with my young step-siblings and my father who are just about to lose their mother/wife...

I hope you understand.

Oh please don't let this leave Level Four, only a select number of people know and certainly not all of the tertiaries by any means.
So keep this to yourselves, I don't want everyone coming up to me and offering me sympathy.
Thanks.

Don't put WG first right now. Take care of yourself and your family. Randy (and I too) can get these new council in here.

I thought i'd update you all:

My stepmother died at 6am GMT this Saturday morning. She died peacefully and painlessly in her sleep.
At last the wait is over <-- that's what we've all been hoping for... for her to die in her sleep, totally at peace.

The funeral is likely to be on Friday.

Thanks for the support, it means a lot wub.gif
