Rant on posts

By Indivi2you on 19/03/2008
Umm, nothing "HUGE"...

Just i have been noticing many newer members, and a few older ones - who should know this - are posting and bumping up old topics. I just want to say, if a topic hasn't been replied on in over 2 weeks about, don't go and post on it...

Unless it is an IA and you must read/post on it.

And this is my personal rant - STOP USING "Oi". IT'S MINE!!!! I'M NOT EVEN JOKING!

Thanks

~Saad

Saad, just becasue a topic has been left for 2 weeks doesn't mean it can be immediately outruled. Many topics are ongoing, and a post after a while can revive them again.

A prime example is a topic like uhh 'what's your favourite music'. It might get left for a few weeks until someone posts again. The topic isn't 'out of date'. Posting on it actually helps the forum because it'll avoid someone cluttering up the forum with another topic about the same thing, which can be avoided.

There are exceptions, but not many. One is events, but they're moved into a different forum when they're done with anyway. Obviously old irrelevant announcements is an exception too.

Remember that "bumping old topics" is not always a bad thing. Just becasue a topic is inactive, it doesn't make it "old". We bump topics whenever we post on them, most of the time there's nothing wrong with it.

Some topics are made to be bumped so simply saying to stop isn't necessarily going to work or even be a good idea. Other ppl may not get on the forums as often as you so they may not realize its an old topic at first. Or they may just want to put out their thoughts on whatever it is.

Just my thoughts! biggrin.gif

But Mike says it so much better. tongue.gif

I know you want to be top wg spammer.
But you don't retaliate about those who you compete against.

Well, as i said in a short point. Unless they are IA, stickies, or just topics that constantly go on such as favorite music or real life name, it is pointless to post on old topics in my opinion. I know you guys may see me as a spammer? But i just post on every current/new topic. And i don't make 1 word posts.

Ffs, this isn't about spam. My point is, like when somebody comes and posts in the general matters topics lets say about the clan. And it has already been solved and such or discussed, somebody comes along and posts on it after 1 month of it being bumped down. All of a sudden, members see it as a new topic and immediately post on it.

Anyways, say as you will, i was just trying to inform/help.

Only way to stop it is to lock them after a certain period, or straight-up delete them.
