Suggestions for the council

As you know, I'm leaving, but before I leave, I want to add to your agenda.


Inactivity checks - These are a must. Don't let people get away with leeching the hard work of everyone else. Show them that they aren't welcome here if they aren't willing to put in the effort.

Forum updates - Make the forums more fun for guests and members alike. It seems as though these forums don't get used as much as they should. They need more topics and discussions that are worth getting involved in. Maybe start actively discussing real life issues in the Real life forum, like we used to do.

Activity amongst the staff - Right now you guys need to be as active as possible. I know it's hypocritical of me to say this, but WG needs you. Why should the members be active if the leadership aren't active? A few hours out of your real life here and there won't hurt.

Authority - The Council need to restore authority. Lately I've seen alot of members questioning the leaderships decisions. Make it clear to them that you are in charge, and your decisions are what's best for WG in the long run, don't let them give you hell for doing what you believe is right.

Communication - Use Level Three more. This forum is here for a reason. You have this forum to discuss day to day issues, start using it more.

You may think some of what I suggested isn't needed, but it's your choice whether to implement any of it or not.

Like showing that we are Council- we take a decision, someone speaks out against us, flames us perhaps, so they get like a 40% warn... and we get flamed even more for that....
But I agree we have to do something....

Activity- I can't really be *FULLY* active until after my exams, but I still manage 2 hours of forum work a day. (Down from 6 hours a day before exams)

#1-Yeah I'm starting to buckle down on inactivity. I've found a few members who aren't RS active that we're about to weed out.

#2-I'll try to bring in more activity in the forums. We need to be more active and open in guest talk to show that we are really friendly and active, and hopefully get more recruits through that.

#3-As far as activity, I'm trying to stay as rs active as possible while upholding council. Because I know from experience, when people see that their leaders aren't rs active, it starts itching away in their mind. "They're not active, why should I be?" etc etc.

#4-This current slump that we're in is just causing stress on everyone's part. But yeah, I agree on that part mostly because people are thinking council is just leaving everyone in the dark about things.. but some things are best left unsaid. I'll just leave it at that.
