PS3 hates Bluetooth?

I cant seem to pair anything up with my ps3, it just keeps 'searching'.

You've made sure that all the things you're trying to pair are set to be discoverable right? Unless you're talking about controllers or something.

Hmmm, Read your bluetooth headset instruction manual, usually you have to hold down the ON button on the headset until the light on it is on and doesnt flash, it is then ready to accept a pairing between your ps3 and headset

Mine wouldn't pick up the headset until I put it on top of the PS3. I figured that would surely be close enough, and it was. 
Try that.
By the way, Bluetooth headsets echo a lot (or at least mine does). Just a warning if you play something like COD4, because some people will flame you for it.
