Need help quickly

My dad woke up at 3am and caught me on the comp. He gets pissed when I'm up that late. I need a good arguement quickly on why it's ridiculous for a 17 year old to have a bedtime. Hurry you have about 5 hours before I never scape again

Do you have school? If so then you are fucked.
If you don't have school, then say it is summer time so what does it matter if you have a bedtime or not?
I don't know a reason why it is rediculous for you to have a bedtime, but during the summer, it is your time to relax and to do what you want basically. There should be no guidelines to your sleeping pattern unless there is a set place that you have to be by a set time.

I know my dad gets the same way - he hates seeing me up late on the computer. But all he does is tell me to to go to sleep, and then he leaves...and I stay awake.

Sometimes the "I woke up in the middle of the night" excuse works. It works better if your bed is all ruffled up so it looks like you were actually asleep before.

If you actually wanted to convince him that it's ridiculous then use examples of how you've been responsible. Leader of a group or something. Show that when it counts you don't waste time playing games or staying up late.

You're going to college soon and he won't be there then to tell you bedtime. You will have to make your own decisions, better to let you test your limits now rather than in college where it can be 10x worse.

Don't lie. If you lie about this little thing of bedtime, then when you need them to believe you they won't. Simply state that you enjoy playing late at night when the house is quiet and it relaxes you to sleep better.

Couldn't sleep and nothing else to do at 3am. Just don't be a smart ass about it that usually doesn't go over well.
