Rune Scim vs Rune Long?
By Kecooler on 27/06/2009
Since RS2 I've always used a scim over a longsword, because as far as I know it's the faster melee weapon. Recently, I've seen a lot of clans using Rune longs instead, and I want to know why. Is it just price related (The clan in question was in a PKRI) or is a Rune long generally better?
Just looking for opinions, thanks.

I've seen alot of people use Longswords back in the day aswell.
I think it's just preference, really.
Longsword also may be more accurate?

Longswords give slightly more def bonus and hit slightly harder. However they are slower.
The main reason though is because they're cheaper.
I could explain the logic of using a scim over a longsword but it'd take too long and I cba.

Rune scimitar - Hits relatively fast, with good accuracy, more expensive than a longsword though.
Rune Longsword - When it actually hits, it hits good. Not very expensive either.
Personally, I changed from scimitars to longswords to save money, but I got no kills at all. I switched to a rune scimitar again, and the kills started rolling in.
