Stepping down

As you've noticed the last two months, I've turned into more and more of a ghost. I, without realizing, made some social transition. I went from the shy kid who loved being at home a significant amount of time to just relax and play video games on the computer to the kid who always wants to be doing something with someone. The only time I'm even on the computer is at late night PST hours. (11pm - 2 am) I've missed the last three mega raids, if not more. I haven't had the time to make events because I cannot commit to anything.

Mentally, I have been past RuneScape for a long time. The only times I really log on are to DM (and lose) against Eve from TDM. I maxed out mid-way through the school year and any in game progress ended there. Since then I just stuck to raiding, etc. Once summer hit, I was out of the house so much I missed all events. I haven't been to a skill event in over 6 weeks. I haven't been to a mega raid in a month. I haven't done council work like accepting an app for over a month. I barely take part in any of our decisions as Staff and Council. I haven't arranged a war in forever.

My daily agenda is me waking up at noon to either two or three missed calls from my best friend Liam, or a text from Natalie or Helen (my gf) asking if I want to hang. If none of them talk to me, I ask my skating friends if they wanna do anything or I ask if my band can do band practice that day. I am busy all day every day during the summer. Somehow I became the "popular kid" without trying. I would be lying if I said I didn't absolutely love it. Sometimes my friends are already at my house when I wake up. I don't care cause my parents are at work, so they can't stop them, and I really don't mind. I just can't make time to commit myself to a prepped raid etc. that I would lead or attend.

I'll cut to the chase. I am stepping down from Warlord. I wish to take on the Emeritus position, as I think I'm too inactive to commit to Elite Guardian. I'll keep membership for the rest of the summer for when I can make raids and fights. I'll stay on the SMS system and read forums every night to see what's coming up. I want to stay in the heart of this clan. I truly love and respect you guys. It would be an abuse of my duty as Council to continue to hold my spot.

I joined WG in August 2007. Mustangred1 recruited me. Props to Cody for doing that. It was the best thing in RuneScape that ever happened to me. It took me three months to go from Trial Guardian to Guardian. Snowzak rid my ass for over a month telling me I "HAD TO GRADUATE OR I WAS GONNA GET RAPED!!!" <3 to you forever man haha. I'm sorry for being an ass.
That December (or January or February I forget) DZ harassed me into applying for Raid Leader. By Pminogue and School Boy19 dropping out, I was awarded Raid Leader. From there I was Raid Leader til about Fall '08. Then a Warlord position opened up, and I ran against Mugger84. We tied. I've been Council since and I've been very happy. (And very fucking lazy lmao)
I love you guys all to death. I hope to always be part of this community. Maybe in the Fall I can become a Guardian again.

Seriously you will be missed. You are without a doubt one of the best raid leaders we've had in WG. At least to me. Certainly the most fun. Not a surprise you are very popular outside of rs and irl.

You should definiately hang around in some form. Who knows maybe one day you might have urge to play again. Or to come to a raid and maybe lead one. Whatever the case may be you will always be welcomed here as a warm friend

It has been great talking to you over the past few months with your transition into real life, and I hope we can continue these conversations.

I enjoyed every raid that you led, and maybe you can get one more under your belt to finish it off strong. We are on our way up, and it takes a lot for you to make the move and step down from a position that you held. You did great man, and I really appreciate everything that you have done for the clan while I have been here, but also me, as I joined WG hating combat, and now I don't mind the occasional raid.

Ohh Glenn... The times that we've had will never be forgotten. From the beginning when you first joined to now. You've been a great friend, one of my best friends here in WG. The inactivity kicked in and we lost touch, but when you came to those raids and led us i enjoyed it much. You led us to some great victories in battle. You'll be missed bro, I'm glad your RL turned around to favor you.

Well Glenn, it was great to get to meet you. I still consider myself as the one who "made you what you are" (not like I taught you much) but I can remember how I was pushing and pushing you to try out for raid leader, you did, and look where that ended up bringing you in the long run.

I always appreciated your sense of humour, even sometimes when I thought you should be a bit more serious, I knew you had the right intentions for the clan.

I hope you enjoy life to the fullest, teen years are arguably the best years of your life so go out and enjoy it. Good luck man.

Glenn, you are one of the most energetic people I have met, and that energy greatly affected the rest of the Council & clan.

You added humour to everything and you went to many extremes to bond with your clan mates. Raiding with you was always unpredictable and every turn had something new to it. You are a wonderful person & I would have loved to meet you IRL.

I love you, Council & Wg will never ever be the same without you & that energy, so, keep in contact, and I'm sure with your personality, you'll get far with your new life.
