Hostile Al

By rachellove9 on 07/07/2009
I realize that Al is a pain in the butt to a lot of you, but he is still a member of this clan.

His outrageous remarks on Nick's MOM pissed even me off.

We need to try to work with him. I've been very sick since Friday and not able to be on much but I'm hoping to be around more now. I think he must have ADHD or be somewhere in that type of medical condition. I'll try to sort this out.

His hostile behavior is directly linked to his rejection by everyone when he wanted to help by being a mentor. I knew that he was taking it to heart and it's sorta like singling him out as the immature one in the clan. Not really a fair thing for us to do. This only made it much worse. We need to try positive reinforcement and encouragement instead.

Bottom line is this. If you all don't want to be bothered by helping out this kid then we need to make him gone from the clan. I don't want him damaged by rejection from us for his real life. A ban would be better than the constant drama he is in right now. Think of Spenser, he is 26 years old, much of the same personality traits. We have the chance to really help him to be a better person.

I actually like Al and find he is really nice. You just have to know how to be non-threatening towards his super sensitiveness.

He needs to actually put forth some effort into the clan, and straighten his act up.

He just expects things to be given to him. He skips raids, attends an event every couple of weeks, and usually doesn't post anything THAT important on forums, and then he complains about us not giving him mentorship?

He sounds spoiled.

Most of the children with special needs are spoiled by their families. They are over compensating for their guilt. They blame themselves for their children being sick.

I'm not excusing his skipping things. He needs to change too.

I agree that he isn't pulling the weight.

Ironic thing is he was very enthusiastic about being here. Be nice if showed that kinda commitment in events. We should be a little nicer to him. His attitude is somewhat a reaction from some people here ignoring him. I think that much is obvious.

I agree with Darf, he really needs to shape up if he wants to be treated better than he is being treated now. I know I'm rough on him, but I can be like that.

He's just way to into himself. I don't want to say he's egotistical, but he's very...self righteous. He thinks any injustice done to him is not proper. He expects things to be handed to him. He always thinks he's right (granted, that's a human trait).

If he really is mentally challenged, or suffers from some disorder, then that explains it.

I find when I do help him, he's very slow to pick things up.

I'd be more willing to help him out though.

I do believe he has a disorder. I just tried to talk to him in pm on irc and he doesn't seem to understand things to well.

Vephy has it right about people not being nice to him too.

I'll try to encourage him to come to more events.

Ya he really does seem slow. Especially at my D&D event where everyone has to be sharp... Him and Rocky lol. Guess I messed up there eh.

I agree with many things said

Lately, a general view of Al is that hes inactive. I've seen BOTH members AND staff saying this publicly, or directly to him in public. Its not the way to go.

We gotta try to help him, but we're gonna have to be more gentle.

I personally think Al does not deserve to be a member of WG.

I do not dislike him in any way whatsoever, he can be very nice, and I think I am one of the few people he talks to on a regular basis in WG. That however does not excuse the fact that he is a regular source of drama (and not the good, livening up the forums type) and is incredibly inactive.

He also has other issues which I have shared with Gene, its his choice whether he wants to, or has acted upon them, but they would be enough I would think to see him out of WG.

Honestly you are right. He shouldn't be in Weegee. We need to get him moving toward attending events now. If he his activity isn't stimulate by that then kick him. No excuse then. Everyone be nice and respectful and encourage him to come to events this week. If were nice and polite and he still is being a drama queen there is no point. I'd like to see some effort though...

You know, when Al's graduation was being processed I told the person who processed it to actually discuss it.

If only people would start listening to me, because I do notice problems that can and will occur.

Can someone say I told you so?

Nick has a good point here. Maybe if someone comes to staff they should step back at least a few hours and review what is being commented on.
