Mage void for Bursting rock lobbies

Hey, i've been wondering about what would be better...
Maxed mage bonus:
ahrims, mage book, fury, infinity hat and boots, ancient staff
or void mage

also, does ring of wealth help getting more charms?

Rock lobbies I think are those crab-like things you find on Waterbirth island. When you say Maxed mage bonus, I guess that means it's the best mage bonus you can get. And when you say void mage... I think of void as in PC. And if I saw you in a full void outfit... I would have no idea what the fuck it was unless you told me. And if you told me, I'd say you were dressing in gear that relates to PC products. Plus I don't like the word void. Void. Black hole. Emptiness. Darkness. Unpleasant.

Look at the infinity shit. Infinity stuff is nice. Brightly-coloured, like a rainbow. Happy. Go for it

The ring of wealth... and charms. Well being wealthy doesn't always mean you have charm, but I dunno. Charm is more a personality thing, and it doesn't directly relate to how rich you are. But I guess, if you're happier your personality changes... so you do what you feel is right for you

I don't know if RoW will help you getting more but you could always wear it?

I dont know if i will use the bonus pray because bursting is already expensive but i am thinking about it. I will just burst with maxed mage bonus i think

I suggest using max gear as well. Void merely increases damage while max mage off boost will be way more accurate. Most likely save you cash. I don't think they have very high defence either?

I use max mage, sorta. I didn't want to spend the money for Mages Book, instead I'm using Zammy book because it gives the +8 Mage attack and a Prayer bonus which is nice.

I'd recommend using a RoL just in case. Wearing Prosy/Ahrims doesn't really do much to stop 9 lobsters from dealing damage to you.

I'm not sure, but if you're going for magic experience as well as charms it might be worth picking up some sacred clay hats - they double your experience when casting combat-related spells (depends if you want to take the time to get a few and keep them recharged, but it'll save you loads on rune costs just counting by experience). I think that's how it works anyway?

I was thinking about swapping out my Ahrims hood for SC hats.

How much EXP does each hat give?

20k each item, which means you get 40k total xp before you dont recieve 2x XP anymore

Cbf'd editing, but Im also training magic atm, through two different methods.

1. String amulet, approx 120k xp per hour, semi afkable
- 83k XP per 1k casts @ 360k GP

Since buying unstrung gold amulets takes ages, and its hard to buy (only gotten about 8k from GE in 1 week),

2. I afk fire wave wearing -65 magic bonus along with the SC armour which doubles the XP of combat spells, pretty much fully afkable until you need to recharge gear or switch, and no random events in tzhaar fight cave where Jad is.
- 85k XP per 1k casts @ 410k GP

Go for max mage bonus. Id recommend ancient staff cause it manual cast gets pissy.

Take ring of life, trust me.

Id recommend something else rather than bursting for mage exp. I bursted for charms and personally imo it wasnt worth the cost/experience.

Just something to think about. Keep in mind the availablity of rock lob spots; they can get crowded.

Two questions:

1. What does stringing the gold amulet have to do with mage? I thought that would be crafting xp. Did you just string for cost reasons then alch them? That wasn't clear to me.

2. Why are all the high levels killing mice in lumby basement and ducks at the fishing guild? They are doing it a ton lately. Am I missing something?

If you honestly want my opinion for Magic XP, do String Amulets.

It can't be THAT much more Expensive(maybe even cheaper?) compared to Bursting? I don't know, I've never Bursted.

But what I can tell you is, that I went from 94-99 Magic in 3 days Stringing Amulets. And those were school days too, so like...4 hours of play a day? xD

String amulet is really afking, since you need to rebank after each invent.Takes way too long to purchase though.

This topic is making me rage.

A good plan for me then would be to mine the gold and smith the amulet for later use when I finally want to do those ancient spells. I have seen them as a waste for me up til this thread. I'll have to figure out the cost/profit and decide what to do.

Are you then alching them for mage/gp or is it not worth the trouble and to expensive? If not what do you do with them? Junk trade?

Nah Rach, you trade them to a Bandit in Varrock after you free him from the Rogue's Castle in the Wilderness. He buys 'em for like 120gp each. I'm not sure of the price of the unstrung amulets now, but when I did it, that was the cost of them. So I virtually only lost the cost of the Astral Rune.

Is it 210? It might be, lol. I did it a while ago, can't remember. xD All I know is that he bought them off me for the exact price I bought them unstrung, and the GE currently had the strung Amulets priced lower than that.
